The secret to getting a good night’s sleep is so much easier than you think. It’s not about a dark room, a noise machine, or any of that other nonsense – it’s about one simple thing. Keep reading for the secret to sleeping at night!
A couple of weeks ago my husband and I took a much needed night off to catch up on some sleep. We started the night with a date to the Texas State Fair (hello fried foods).
After our date, we headed back to a nearby Holiday Inn Express to get some sleep before picking up our son on Saturday. I haven’t slept that well in a really long time. And the secret to that great night of sleep?
Not having to set an alarm. No alarm whatsoever.
With Holiday Inn Express’ Snoozapalooza, you get a late checkout (12PM) on weekends and even better, their late breakfast is open until noon as well. No need to set an alarm to make it to a 9 or 10AM breakfast. We didn’t even stir until after 10AM and finally rolled down to breakfast around 11:30.
At 11:30, the breakfast was still fully stocked. Pancakes you can make yourself in a minute with their awesome pancake machine, flavorful biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit, and a ton of other options – over 30 healthy varieties total. At noon it was probably more lunch or brunch than breakfast, but it was one dang good first meal.
So the secret to a perfect night’s sleep? Not setting an alarm and letting your body wake up naturally, after it’s caught up on all of the sleep it’s missed the past few days, weeks, or months. Take it from me, it feels glorious. I’m thinking about bribing my husband to let me go enjoy another night off before the promotion ends.
The Holiday Inn Express Snoozapalooza is going on weekends from September 17th – December 18th, perfect for holiday travel! And if you’re not traveling and people are coming to you, have them stay with the kids at your house and take a night away like we did to take advantage of a good night’s sleep! It’ll be the best holiday present anyone could ever give you. Trust me.
When was the last time you got a good night’s sleep?
