Anyway, back to my recipe. One of my favorite Valentine’s Day treats is a good chocolate covered strawberry. I don’t care if it’s professionally made or just hand-dipped by my husband right before I eat it, I love them all the same. Pretty sure it’s one of the reasons we keep returning to the Tampa strawberry festival in March year after year. Since everyone has had a good chocolate covered strawberry before (and if you haven’t, hurry up already), I decided to switch things up and create a play on a chocolate covered strawberry. I enjoyed my cookies and cream frozen yogurt pops so much that I thought it would be fun to create chocolate covered strawberry frozen yogurt pops too. So simple and so delicious! And honestly, it tastes just like a chocolate covered strawberry, in frozen form!
Chocolate Covered Strawberry Yogurt Pops
First things first, melt some semi-sweet (or dark chocolate if you prefer) chocolate chips in the microwave. Once they’re completely melted, paint the inside of little 3 oz paper cups with the chocolate, making sure to evenly cover the bottom and both sides. And if you’ve never painted with food, what are you waiting for? So fun.
Pop those chocolate cups in the freezer for a few minutes to let the chocolate harden then pour your favorite strawberry yogurt right inside the cups. Stick a popsicle or craft stick in the middle of the yogurt, making sure to push all the way to the bottom.
Fill up as many cups as you want and stick each individual cup into a freezer safe muffin tin to keep them from falling over when you place them in the freezer. Freeze for a couple of hours until the yogurt has completely hardened. Carefully unwrap the paper cup wrapper from the outside and enjoy a yummy frozen chocolate covered strawberry treat!
