These chalkboard conversation heart brownies are fun and modern Valentine’s day treats that you can make with just a few ingredients! And is there anything better than a quick and easy Valentine’s day dessert?
A couple of weeks ago I went to an amazing conference in Phoenix called BASH. One of the best parts of the conference was getting the chance to meet some amazing bloggers, bakers, and sponsors. The team from Wilton was nice enough to give me one of their heart shaped silicone baking pans, and I am so excited to share these yummy treats I made with the pan. They would be perfect for a desserts only Valentine’s Day party or even a craft your heart out Valentine’s day girls night!
I’ve seen all of those cute conversation heart treats out there, and I thought it would be fun to make my own version, a modern chalkboard version. I made boxed brownies in the awesome heart-shaped pan they gave me, and then decorated with black and white Wilton chocolate melts I had in my pantry. Here’s how I made them!
Step 1 – Bake your brownies in a Wilton heart-shaped baking pan according to the instructions on the box. Let cool completely then remove from the pan VERY carefully.
Step 2 – Once cooled, melt black Wilton chocolate melts in the microwave according to the instructions on the package. Then use a paintbrush to carefully paint a thin layer of black chocolate on top of the brownies. Allow chocolate to dry.
Step 4 – While chocolate is drying, melt a small amount of white chocolate melts in a plastic bag according to the instructions on the package. Once melted, cut off a tiny corner of the bag. Make sure to cut just a tiny tip, starting small, because you can cut more later but you can’t add the tip back on if you cut too much .
Step 5 – Pipe the white chocolate through the bag onto the brownies writing out typical conversation heart sayings like love, kiss me, hugs, be mine, etc. And enjoy!
