With the big premiere of Disney’s Christopher Robin movie just a few months away, here are some things to know about the movie! Everything from the Christopher Robin cast to when the movie hits theaters and more!
Why I’m Excited for Christopher Robin
There are a lot of Disney movies coming out in 2018 that I’m excited for. Incredibles 2 of course since I went to Pixar Animation Studios and learned all about the Incredibles 2 costume design and more. Ant-Man and the Wasp because well, Marvel. Mary Poppins because I love Emily Blunt, especially after her performance in A Quiet Place.
And the brand new Christopher Robin movie. Out of all of the major movies coming out this year, this one almost seems like an underdog compared to the big names like Avengers: Infinity War. That being said, it’s one that I personally am most excited about because we got a sneak peek of the movie and got to listen to one of the producers, Kristin Burr, speak at DisneySMMC this year, and I fell in love with the story, the characters, and the producer.
Not to mention, I already love Ewan McGregor who plays Christopher Robin. I mean, who doesn’t.
Here are some things to know about the movie before it hits theaters August 3rd!
6 Things to Know About Christopher Robin
Here are some things to know about the movie before it hits theaters August 3rd! Some you may have heard already and some you may not have known!
#1 – The Christopher Robin Movie Cast is Top Notch
As I mentioned already, Christopher Robin is played by Ewan McGregor. Unfortunately as of February, he wasn’t singing in the film yet, but he did sing quite a bit on set for fun so who knows, maybe it’ll be included as extra credits!
Alongside Christopher Robin, Hayley Atwell (Agents of Shield) plays his wife, Bronte Carmichael plays his daughter, and Mark Gatiss plays Christopher’s boss.
Christopher Robin’s beloved friends from the Hundred Acres Woods – Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Owl, Piglet, Eeyore, Rabbit, Kanga, and Roo are all back and voiced by Jim Cummings, Brad Garrett, Toby Jones, Nick Mohammed, Peter Capaldi, Sophie Okonedo.
#2 – Winnie the Pooh Characters are Even Cuter “Live”
I didn’t think it was possible for the Winnie the Pooh characters to get cuter, but they did in this movie. I couldn’t help but say aww over and over again as I watched the new trailer. There’s just something about these childhood favorites coming to life that gets me.
#3 – The Movie Will Include Some Great Winnie the Pooh Quotes
When the first Christopher Robin trailer came out, I put together a collection of my favorite Winnie the Pooh quotes. After watching the brand new trailer, I can already tell I’m going to have some new quotes to add. Watch the new trailer below and you’ll see what I mean.
This movie is going to be full of jokes, quotes to live by, and more!
#4 – This Movie Will Be Good for the Entire Family
This new adventure from our childhood favorites will be good for the entire family. I haven’t seen the movie yet, and I can guarantee that both kids and adults will love this movie. It’s nostalgic, it’s full of cute characters, and it’s full of sentiment and reminders that everyone needs to hear.
The main storyline is that Christopher Robin has moved to London and become too busy with his job that he doesn’t have time for his family. What adults hasn’t felt that in their life at some time – too busy with something not as important to spend time with their family. I know I have.
What the new trailer shows is that Winnie the Pooh and friends help Christopher Robin realize how important his family is but that’s not enough for Winnie the Pooh. Even after Christopher leaves, Winnie the Pooh realizes he missed his friend and wants to spend more time with him. The adventure takes them back to London where Christopher’s family gets to meet his beloved friends!
#5 – Disney’s Christopher Robin is Not a True Story
Unlike some of the other Christopher Robin movies that have come out in the past few years about the actual man Christopher Robin, this is not a true story or based on a true story. This is totally fictional movie written about who Disney imagined Christopher Robin from the Hundred Acres Woods might become when he grew up.
Don’t be confused thinking this might be sad or depressing or any of the other words that might come to mind when you think of other Christopher Robin movies – this is going to be as heart felt and uplifting as any other Winnie the Pooh movie you’ve ever seen. The music in the new trailer almost guarantees that.
#6 – The Christopher Robin Movie Hits Theaters August 3rd
I mentioned it once before but it’s worth mentioning again! Disney’s Christopher Robin opens everywhere August 3rd. It’s the perfect movie to watch together before kids head back to school (or start school in my son’s case – ahhhh!) as a final summer hurrah!
