I read a lot of books growing up, like enough that my parents grounded me from reading when I was in trouble. Seriously. To this day, one of the books I loved the most was A Wrinkle in Time. It’s been a really long time since I’ve read the book, but I remember loving every page of it! And I just downloaded it on my Kindle to re-read before the new Disney movie version hits theaters in March 2018! If you’ve never read the book, it’s time! This is one where I think reading the book beforehand will likely help make the movie come to life even more!
I’m really interested to see how they bring the story to life because the magic of books is so often being able to imagine things however you want to imagine them. And every person who reads a book may imagine that world and characters totally different. It’s the beauty of books. But the beauty of film is that they can actually bring a lot of those things you can only imagine to life. I mean just look at this new poster. I love the play on wrinkles, the costuming, and the colors.
I’m not sure I could have imagined a better cast for the movie – Oprah, Reese Witherspoon (she’s one of my favorites!!), Mindy Kaling, Chris Pine, and Zach Galifianakis star along with newcomer Storm Reid who plays the lead role of Meg Murry in the film. They just released this brand new trailer for the film, and I can already tell it’s going to be amazing!
About A Wrinkle in Time
From visionary director Ava DuVernay comes Disney’s “A Wrinkle in Time,” an epic adventure based on Madeleine L’Engle’s timeless classic which takes audiences across dimensions of time and space, examining the nature of darkness versus light and, ultimately, the triumph of love. Through one girl’s transformative journey led by three celestial guides, we discover that strength comes from embracing one’s individuality and that the best way to triumph over fear is to travel by one’s own light.
A Wrinkle in Time opens in theaters everywhere on March 9, 2018.
