It’s here!!! If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably been waiting for a new Avengers Infinity War trailer since the first one dropped months ago. I mean there was that little Super Bowl teaser, but it was pretty much the same stuff we’ve already seen! Before we get to the new trailer, here’s the brand new poster that goes along with the trailer. Still no glimpses of Hawkeye, which means they’ve gotta be doing something pretty big with his character to go so far as to conceal him from all the promos!
Avengers Infinity War Trailer & Reaction Video
So since I don’t have a Marvel loving buddy around me, I grabbed my favorite little buddy and watched it with him and did our very first reaction video. Way more fun with the munchkin.
First the trailer, then our reaction video, and then some actual thoughts on the trailer! Spoiler, it’s awesome. Just over a month until Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters April 27, 2018! Tickets are available for pre-sale right now! You’d better believe I’ll be there Thursday night.
Thoughts on the Infinity War Trailer
Okay, so let’s talk about this trailer a bit.
We see plenty of Infinity Stones but still not the final one. Looks like Loki gave Thanos the tesseract (with the Space Stone) after all and Thanos somehow got the purple power stone from the Guardians at some point. There were a lot more Guardians in this movie (yay) but still not sure how that happened. Vision still has the yellow mind stone in this one but we know from the first Infinity War Trailer that Vision is without the stone at some point during the movie. And Doctor Strange has the green time stone. We haven’t seen the red stone since it was given to the collector in Thor: The Dark World and still no glimpse of the soul stone. Who knows if it’ll show up in Infinity War or not until the untitled Avengers 4 next year.
We got more action and actual Thanos vs Avengers action in this trailer too, but I could’ve done without it. I don’t need Thanos anywhere near Cap or Thor, two Avengers whose contracts are apparently up. The MCU just won’t be the same without those guys.
And speaking of Chris’, my favorite scene of the entire trailer was when Star-Lord was telling Tony Stark his plan was stupid. I kind of love him. There’s a reason I ordered a spirit jersey that says “Team Chris” on the back. It’s going to be all the tears in the theater if any of them don’t make it out alive. I also love that they’re using Spiderman for a little comic relief, which totally makes sense coming from a high school kid!
Honestly as sad as I am to see the MCU as we know it come to a close, characters like Ant-Man and Spider-Man give me hope that the MCU will still be awesome, even if it’s going a different direction. It’s hard to imagine, but I’m hopeful.
What’d you think of the trailer?
