This banh mi recipe is so easy to make. Simply cook up some sausage and add to bread with fresh veggies and a little flavored mayo for a refreshingly delicious meal that’s on the table in minutes!
Last week I went on a trip to Cancun with my husband and instead of just relaxing and taking the week off, you know what I did? I answered emails and brainstormed ideas for 2018 and planned out this week’s favorite things party. Because that’s how December is for me, busy. I literally could not turn my brain off no matter what I did. I did get a massage and read a book, so that was a win but even during the massage my brain was thinking, ooh what other printable gift exchange game can I come up with this year?
Looking back, we probably should’ve gone in January when my brain isn’t quite as overwhelmed with all of the craziness of the holidays and Q4 work. Just this weekend alone we are doing the North Pole Express train, two Santa breakfasts, a service project, a Polar Express movie night, and my son’s Christmas program at preschool. It’s just so much.
One of my secrets to getting through all the holiday craziness, even with parties and activities every day, is to keep our meals easy. No one has time to spend hours in the kitchen making dinner when you’re already spending hours making the perfect Christmas party appetizers or black and white desserts for your New Year’s Eve party. This banh mi recipe is perfect for the crazy holidays (or really any time of the year).
Holiday Gift Idea: Johnsonville Sizzling Sausage Grill
This banh mi recipe is so simple it’s almost not even fair. And our brand new Johnsonville Sizzling Sausage Grill makes it even easier because you don’t even have to cook the sausage yourself – the grill does it for you!
You simply open the grill, add in your sausage, shut your grill, and let it cook it to perfection. Okay, if it’s your first time using it, there are a few more steps like cleaning the grill plates and making sure to add the drip pan under the grill, but if you’re like us and use it often, it really is as simple as adding your sausage and letting it grill. You don’t even have to preheat the grill, in fact, you’re not supposed to preheat!
The grill holds up to five sausages at a time and uses an enclosed design to brown the sausages evenly without losing any of the delicious juices or flavor of the sausages.
For anyone who grills sausage on a regular basis, the Johnsonville Sizzling Sausage Grill is a huge time-saver! And for anyone who doesn’t, they may just start if you give them this awesome holiday gift. Pretty sure we’ll be grilling up more sausage this year!
The grill is available for $80and if you buy it right now through December 11th on SizzlingSausageGrill.com using the promo code Sizzle you can get free shipping (a $14.95 value)! But hurry because you have to buy it before December 11th to guarantee shipping before Christmas.
Easy Banh Mi Recipe
Once the sausage is cooked, simply slice it thinly, place it on bread lathered with your favorite type of aioli or mayo sauce (we love Primal Kitchen’s Chipotle Lime Mayo), then top with thinly sliced fresh veggies like carrots, cabbage, and cilantro. The combination of the cooked sausage with the crunch of the veggies and the creamy chipotle is just perfection. You could even just set out a little serving bar and let your family serve themselves!
And did I mention it takes less than 15 minutes from start to finish? The grill cooks up to five sausages perfectly in 15 minute or less. That gives you time to herd your family to the table while the sausage cooks. Or if you’d rather not make it for your family, make up some banh mi sandwiches, slice them into quarters, and serve with a toothpick for a yummy holiday party appetizer!
