Find out what it’s like to be on Disney Channel’s Coop and Cami Ask the World and which episodes of the upcoming season are the best in this exclusive interview with Coop and Cami stars!
I was invited by Disney, ABC & Freeform to Los Angeles for an all-inclusive Mary Poppins Returns Event. All opinions and ideas are 100% honest and my own!
Who else is a huge fan of Disney Channel shows? I may have watched all the seasons of Austin & Ally and Girl Meets World. Without any kids that age at home – like not even close.
There’s just something about TV shows that have a good underlying message with a bit of humor and cute kids that get me. I’ll be honest – before the 25 Days of Christmas Event, I’d never seen an episode of Coop and Cami Ask the World. Never even heard of the show.
But after screening the holiday episode and getting a chance to chat with four of the main stars from Coop and Cami, I’m a big fan.
And not just because I was almost as tall as all four of the stars. That’s not something I can say often.
Coop and Cami Holiday Episode
The first thing we did was sit down and screen the upcoming holiday-themed episode, “Would you Wrather Get a Moose Angry?” In the episode, the kids try to give their mom Jenna the festive Christmas she wants and things, like always, go awry.
Without giving anything away really, I’ll just say – I was totally feeling for the mom, Jenna, in the show who was trying her best to get herself into the Christmas spirit.
I get it Jenna, I really do. I started working on Christmas content for my blog back in August and three months later I’m really struggling to feel it this year. Not sure if it’s because I’m pregnant, because we missed Thanksgiving in Australia, because Christmas in Texas just doesn’t feel like Christmas, or what.
But I am just not feeling it this year.
And just like Jenna and the Wrather family, I’m planning to fake it until I feel it. Tomorrow we’re doing a Christmas party, a Polar Express train ride, and a Christmas party complete with a choir singing Christmas carols with my family.
Hoping it cures me of my Christmas blues.
Need a little cup of Christmas cheer this weekend? Catch the brand new episode of Coop and Cami Ask the World Friday, December 7th (tonight!) at 8:30 ET/PT on Disney Channel.
Sitting down with Coop & Cami Stars
After screening the episode, we sat down with four of the stars from Coop and Cami Ask the World – Dakota Lotus (Coop), Ruby Rose Turner (Cami), Albert Tsai (Fred) and Paxton Booth (Ollie).
It was kind of funny sitting down with the kids because often times when you interview adult stars, they’re totally different in person than they are on screen.
But with these actors, you could totally see how much of their real-life personalities, voices, and interactions come through on their show. You can easily see why each of them was cast in their particular roles.
One of the neatest things to see was how much they really truly liked each other and got along great. When we asked them about hanging out in real life, the answer came quickly that they do things together as often as possible since they all live in the LA area.
They just finished filming the first season of Coop and Cami and admitted that they miss it and miss being around each other on a regular basis. They were totally like an actual family, not just actors pretending to be one.
Another thing I found funny from our chat was that while their friends are super supportive of their show, they often find their friends quoting or using lines from the show in real life. They’ll hear it and be like oh man, that’s something I say in the show.
It’s amazing how impactful TV can be, especially when someone you care about is in it!
Another thing you may not have known – Paxton is their stunt guinea pig. And he loves it – probably the BMX fan in him that likes the adventure and adrenaline rush.
And even though they don’t do all of their own stunts, they said they do get to do lots of fun and crazy things like have animals (raccoons, moose, etc.) come on set, throw things across the set, and more. You’ll have to watch the season to what other crazy antics the Wrather family + Fred are up to!
Last but not least – of the 21 episodes they’ve filmed, all four of them said that the last three episodes are their favorites. No spoilers here but make sure to catch Coop and Cami Ask the World on Friday nights on Disney Channel!
