These spring floral centerpieces only take minutes to make and best of all, the flowers stay fresh in the vase hidden in the centerpieces.
I am so excited to announce that I’ve joined the FloraCraft Make It Fun Crafts team, which means I get to share all sorts of awesome projects and products with you all over the next few months. This month’s theme was all about wreaths, specifically the awesome FloraCraft® Make It: Fun® Foam wreaths that come in 12″, 14″, 16″, and 18″ sizes. I’m just gonna say it now, I’m terrible at making wreaths unlike my friend April from Illistyle who makes the most gorgeous wreaths without even thinking twice. So instead of making a wreath, I decided to make a spring party table centerpiece using the FloraCraft® Make It: Fun® Foam wreaths and gorgeous spring flowers. The secret is the vase hidden inside the centerpiece, which allows you to actually keep your flowers in water (and fresh!) rather than just cutting off the actual blooms and putting them on top of the centerpiece.
DIY Spring Centerpieces Tutorial
- (2) 12″ FloraCraft® Make It: Fun® Foam wreaths
- (2) 14″ FloraCraft® Make It: Fun® Foam wreaths
- StyroCutter® Plus (optional)
- Artesia® floral wet foam block that fits into your vase
- Charger or other large plate to serve as the base of your centerpiece
- Vase that is about the height of the four wreaths stacked on top of each other
- (2) Coordinating pieces of fabric
- Fresh flowers
Step 1 – First, stack up your four FloraCraft® Make It: Fun® Foam wreaths on top of each other, on top of the charger. Then put the vase inside to make sure that the top of the vase is in line with the top of the foam. If the FloraCraft® Make It: Fun® Foam wreaths are too tall, use a StyroCutter® Plus to trim the top of the wreath so it’s in line with the vase.
Step 2 – Once you have the right wreath height, remove the wreaths from the charger. Take the two 14″ wreaths and wrap the fabric around the two together, pulling the fabric tight and pinning as you go. Make sure to pin the fabric on the inside or bottom of the wreaths, so the pins don’t show when you’re done.
Step 3 – Repeat the same process with the two 12″ wreaths. Once both layers have been wrapped, stack the two layers on top of the charger.
Step 4 – Put together your flower arrangement in the vase then put the vase directly in the middle of the centerpiece. Once it’s inside the centerpiece, adjust any flowers so that the vase is completely covered and the flowers are evenly arranged.
I’m in love with spring fabrics, so those are the ones that I chose but this project could easily be adapted for any party, dinner, wedding, etc. just by changing up the fabrics and flowers used. The only thing that really needs to stay the same is using the FloraCraft® Make It: Fun® Foam wreaths.
