The countdown is on! Exactly eight weeks from today THOR: RAGNAROK hits the theaters, well technically the opening date is November 3rd, but opening night for true fans is Thursday, November 3rd. And I’ve put together a list of eight things you can do between now and then to get ready for the big THOR: RAGNAROK premiere — that’s one activity a week and totally doable.

8 Ways to Prep for the THOR: RAGNAROK Release
#1 – Buy Your THOR: RAGNAROK Tickets
Tickets went on sale today. Buy advanced tickets now to make sure you get prime seating at your very favorite theater. I’m talking the kind with incredible sound, reclining seats, and reserved seating so you know you’ll be right in the middle of the action. I’ve already planned a date night for that weekend with my husband and to go see it again the next weekend with the girls when I run the Thor 10K in Disneyland.
While you’re at it, check out the character posters Marvel just released. I love the use of color and can’t wait to see how that’s incorporated into the film, if at all.
#2 – Order Your THOR: RAGNAROK (or Hulk or Loki) Opening Night Costumes
I already put together a list of my favorite Thor shirts that would be perfect for opening night but if you’re more of a Tom Hiddleston or Mark Ruffalo fan, then you may need a bit of time to search for the perfect thing to wear to opening night. Or just go all out and wear a full costume, then take pictures and send them to me please!
Another option – make this simple DIY Team Thor shirt instead to show everyone which side you’re on!
#3 – Make Some THOR: RAGNAROK Snacks
I’d give you a link to some fun Thor hammer snacks but here’s the deal – I searched all over Pinterest to do a round-up of snacks and they’re all the same. To make and enjoy your own Thor hammer snacks:
- Buy pretzel sticks and some other food that is either rectangle or can be cut into a rectangle.
- Press pretzel stick into rectangle.
These silver covered marshmallow ones on Thor cupcakes are my favorite because at least they’re the right color!
#4 – Start Your Avengers Movie Marathon
Don’t remember exactly what happened before THOR: Ragnarok? Take the month leading up to the release to do an Avengers movie marathon. Know exactly what happened before Ragnarok? Do it anyway, they movies are great. And make sure to give yourself time because there are a lot of them.
#5 – Catch Up on the Latest THOR: RAGNAROK News
The best place to get all the latest news and updates is by following along on the Thor Facebook page, Twitter page, and Instagram page. And here of course, I’ll post everything I hear as soon as I hear it. There are bound to be some more footage and trailers out by then, and I’m hoping to get a glimpse at Infinity War!
#6 – Practice Your THOR Hammer Skills
Two weeks to go is the perfect time to have some friends over – kids, adults, anyone – for a fun Avengers themed night. I’ve got an entire collection of superhero party games and a full superhero amazing race that would make for an incredible date or family night. And watching people try to use a hammer to get ping pong balls into a bucket (the Thor game from this list), is hilarious. Laughing is definitely a good way to get ready for the movie!
#7 – Watch this Hulk vs. THOR Animated Film
Get yourself prepped for the big fight with a little animated preview. I mean, it’s not the same as watching Chris Hemsworth in action, but it’s a good teaser.
#8 – Enjoy THOR: RAGNAROK Opening Night
Print your tickets, fill up your bag (even better if it’s this awesome Dooney & Bourke Avengers bag I just bought), and enjoy opening night! Then come back and tell me what you thought! I hope it’s as good as it looks.
