Pumpkin colored paints, Paper plate
Place some of the green paint on a different portion of the paper plate.
Green paint
Cut apples in half (if not done already), and remove the stem.
Apple
Give the painter a piece of paper, an apple half, a sprig, and their paint covered paper plate.
Sprig of a bush or shrub, White card stock paper
Press the apple halves into the pumpkin paint colors and press them onto the paper. Repeat until you have various pumpkins on the paper in various colors.
Dip the apple stem in green paint and use the stem to make pumpkin stems. Use the spring dipped in green paint to connect the pumpkins with green vines (or just use the stems).
Once finished, let the painting sit until the paint is completely dried.
Notes
Put down a plastic tablecloth on the table before you start painting. Then when paint spills, pumpkins get stamped on the table, and a mess is made in some other way, you can just take off the tablecloth and toss it for clean up!Give each kid their own painting “palette” with paint rather than having them share colors if you’re working with a number of kids. Or if it’s just a few kids, you could just put one color per paper plate (i.e,. red on one, orange on one) and have the kids share those paper plates.Have extra white card stock available (more than just one per child) so they can make more pumpkin patches if they want to! And I can almost guarantee they’ll want to!
