These simple Halloween rice krispie treats are a yummy Halloween or fall treat for any age! Start with rice krispy cereal, add some marshmallows, and finish it off with Halloween candies and decorations!
Start by lining an 8″ x8″ baking dish with parchment paper.
Melt the butter in a large pot over low heat.
2 TBS salted butter
Once the butter has melted, add marshmallows and stir continuously until completely melted.
2 1/2 cups mini marshmallows
Take the melted marshmallow mixture off the heat and stir in the vanilla first. Then add in the cereal and stir until everything is combined well.
4 cups rice krispie cereal, 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
Spread the cereal mixture out evenly on prepared baking sheet and top with candy corn and sprinkles as desired.

Take a second piece of parchment paper and place it over the the top of the rice krispie treats and press down firmly all over.
Remove top piece of parchment paper and let cool at room temperature for about an hour before cutting and serving.
Notes
Store leftover rice krispie treats in an airtight container for up to five days before throwing away.Double the recipe and use a 9×13 pan to make a larger batch. The treats may be a little thicker but they’ll still be yummy!Change things up and add your favorite Halloween treats like candy eyes, colored M&Ms, or really anything else!Substitute the 2 1/2 cups mini marshmallows with 18 regular size marshmallows if that's what you have on hand.
