DIY Vending Machine
Make a DIY vending machine as a fun way to give out prizes for your next party game! This fun prize dispenser is simple to make and will have everyone excited to win a surprise prize!

Equipment
- Pair of scissors
- hot glue gun
- X-acto knife
- ruler
- chopstick
Ingredients
- extra large cardboard box
- heavy duty tape white Duct or packing tape
- white yarn
- hot glue sticks optional
- decorations paint, spiderwebs, spiders, letters
- prizes
Instructions
Prep The Box
- Using the X-Acto knife, cut off one of the inside folding flaps at the seam. Make sure you don't cut one of the flaps that connect to close the box. Set this aside for a minute. This is the top of your box.extra large cardboard box
- Trace out a large rectangle from the widest section of the box for your web.It needs to be roughly 2/3 of the box and in the top half, while still leaving a full 2 inches from the top.
- Use the X-acto knife to cut out 3 of the 4 sides of the drawn rectangle. Don't cut the bottom line!
- Gently fold the now-cut-out flap along the drawn line to create a crease.
- Close and tape off the top end. Make sure everything is taped tightly.
- Fold the creased flap into the center of the box. Tape the flap to the back wall of the box. If your flap doesn't reach the back, use the previously cut-out flap and attach it to the creased flap to create a shelf that reaches the back of the box.heavy duty tape
- Stand the box up on the bottom or the untaped end.
Create The Spiderweb
- Cut one string that is roughly 8 inches longer than the length of your box from top to bottom.white yarn
- Tape one end of the string to the inside top of the box or if you're using heavier prizes, hot glue the string to the top.hot glue sticks
- Use your X-Acto knife to cut an X on the middle shelf where you want your string to go. For the first few strings, make them go diagonally across to create good beams to cross other strings over later.
- Gently push the string through the X with the chopstick. Pull the string until it is threaded all the way through, and you can see it when you lift up the bottom flap.
- Repeat with the other yarn until you have enough strings for the number of prizes you have.
Decorate And Add The Prizes
- Decorate as desired with paint, spiderwebs, spiders, letters, and so on.decorations
- Lift up the bottom flap and, working with one string at a time, securely tie the prize onto the string so that it is no longer touching the ground.prizes
- Once all the strings have prizes attached, you are ready to go.
Notes
How to make it look like a spider-web:
Place the holes randomly throughout the shelf so the strings are not simply hanging vertically. Cross the strings randomly to make them change direction and create a more web-like look. The more cross-sections, the more web-like it will look.
