I’m almost always in the middle of planning some party whether it be for this week or a month from now. Right now, I’m working on a Wizard of Oz “There’s No Place Like Home” party to celebrate my sister coming home from her mission (to Kansas even) in August. I’ve been working on bits and pieces of it for the past few weeks and am super excited to show you one of the Wizard of Oz party favor ideas I came up with for the party.

One of the parts of the movie that I remember the most is when they are walking along the yellow brick road and chanting “Lions, tigers, and bears. Oh, my!” I mean who hasn’t heard that line before, even if you’ve never even seen the movie before. It’s just classic. I saw this cute printable thank you tag from Swish Printables and thought it would be fun to create a plate full of Wizard of Oz treats with little lion, tiger, and bear containers that guests could fill up on their way out.

And that treat stand? Just an apothecary jar filled with corn pops (that look like bricks) topped with a plate I picked up for my St. Patrick’s Day party in March. I thought it was a fun play on the yellow brick road leading to the Emerald City. I filled the plate with sour patch “munchkins,” Skittles for the rainbow, gummy and graham cracker bears, and yellow corn pop bricks. There are tons of possibilities, but those are things that K likes right now so I used those.

Both the treat stand and the little treat containers were SO easy to make. Check it out.

DIY Animal Treat Containers

Supplies Needed:

  • 4 oz mason jars with lids
  • small plastic animals
  • Krazy Glue
  • Animal shaped treats

I’ll show you step by step how to do this, but it’s really as easy as just using the Krazy Glue to glue the animals to the top of the jars and then filling the jars with treats!

The beauty of using Krazy Glue for this project is that you don’t have to heat up a glue gun (or deal with the glue gun burns if you’re like me), but it’s still super fast! And you have a great little precision tip that makes it easy to get the glue right where you want it! There’s also an awesome Skin Guard™formula that delays the bonding, giving you just a little bit of extra time before the glue dries. That’s helpful for getting your animals nice and centered onto the top of the jars. And once the glue does dry, those animals form the perfect handle for carrying the jars! Krazy strong, Krazy fast.

While you’ve got the Krazy Glue out, follow the steps below to create a custom Emerald City treat plate where you can put all of the yummy treats your guests can choose from. This is even easier than creating the animal jars because you’re gluing onto a large circle rather than itty bitty feet! First, gather your supplies – plate, apothecary jar, corn pops, and of course Krazy Glue.

Fill the jar with corn pops then glue the plate on top. That’s it! You now have a perfect custom treat stand for your party and because of Krazy Glue’s new 20 gram gel formula that is stronger than ever, you don’t have to worry about the plate getting knocked off when the kids are trying to get their treats.

Wizard of Oz party plate idea - love the corn pop yellow brick road and "lion, tigers, and bears" candy

This is just an example of how quickly you can make custom party pieces and other party masterpieces in minutes using Krazy Glue. I used it on glass and plastic, but it also works great on all sorts of other materials like porcelain, pottery, and rubber! Both of these projects literally took me minutes to finish and best of all, I could carry the Krazy Glue along with me in my pocket while I was carrying everything outside to photograph. I love things that are small enough to fit in my pocket or purse. It’ll have its own little place in my new craft desk just waiting to be used for all sorts of future projects.

What kind of projects have you made using Krazy Glue? Have you tried out their unique craft bond glue that allows you bond the smallest, most delicate crafts?

Make sure to check back in August to see how I incorporate these Wizard of Oz party favors into my “There’s No Place Like Home” party. I can’t wait to share all of the details with you soon!
