One of the most fun Easter traditions is a good old-fashioned indoor Easter egg hunt or maybe one of these non-traditional Easter egg hunts. And unless you’re doing a bunny mart (highly recommended), you’re going to have to fill all of those Easter eggs with something!

Every year we host Easter egg hunts for the kids and then also ones for the teens and adults. My all-time favorite is this scrambled egg hunt (or maybe our cash or hatch game), but we’ve done all sorts of different Easter egg hunts for teens and adults over the years.

While kids are typically okay with just candy and cheap little trinkets (I’ve included a few of those later in this post), teens and adults prefer something else. And I’ve put together a whole list of great things to put inside Easter eggs that I consider bigger and better than candy!

Recommended Eggs

There are a number of prizes on these lists that will only fit into eggs larger than the regular size of plastic eggs. I recommend getting a pack of larger Easter eggs like these ones to fit things like nail polish, gift cards, and other larger items on these lists! Just have people return their eggs after the Easter egg hunt so you can reuse them again and again! They even have cool looking ombre ones!

Easter Egg Fillers For Teens

Kids growing up doesn’t mean you have to stop hiding Easter eggs. In fact, this Easter egg hunt idea for teens is one of my most popular Easter posts because teens love finding Easter eggs, especially if they’re filled with any of these great Easter fillers for teens!

You’ll notice that a number of these are higher ticket items than a bag of candy. We typically hide less eggs with higher priced items so they still get Easter egg finding with things they actually want!

Beauty Items

  1. Hand cream or lotions – these are great because they can squish into eggs
  2. Mini face wash – this size is great for sleepovers and taking on trips!
  3. Mini roller ball – another great travel size item perfect for backpacks and purses! Or grab a skin care set like this one and break it up!
  4. Eye masks – (these puffiness ones are great) or fun face masks like these that can fold up into eggs.
  5. Scrunchies or hair ties – I love these satin ones because they don’t leave a dent in your hair!
  6. Skincare wipes – these are great because you can buy them in a pack and split among eggs!
  7. Beauty sponges – these are the perfect size to fit into eggs!
  8. Lip tints or lip oils – this pack is fun because there are six included, split them up!
  9. Nail polish – a fun Easter color like this ombre effect polish would be great! Or something more specific like this instant gel topper that makes regular polish gel!
  10. Eyeshadow – I love these individual eye shadow palettes or these eye shadow quads where it has four different coordinating colors.

Just for Fun Teen easter Egg Fillers

These ones are just teen specific and honestly just pure fun!

  1. Sporty jewelry – have a teen athlete? These necklaces are a fun reminder of their favorite hobby!
  2. Funny socks – I think these ones are hilarious, teens will get a kick out of them!
  3. Fidget or sensory toys – fill eggs with things like these little bendable people, or this fidget pen that can be turned into other things or these magnetic rings are pretty cool too. Teens can all use a little stress relievers in their life!
  4. Positive reminders – if you can get these to fit into your eggs, I love these little positive reminders. They’re cute and a good reminder to teens they’re awesome! They have a bunch of different designs but this capybara might be my favorite!
  5. Eye black – this is fun for football, baseball, and any other sport lovers! And it’s the perfect size for Easter eggs!
  6. Pimple patches – another great buy in bulk and split in the eggs!
  7. Mini Brain Teasers/puzzles – these ones on keychains are fun because you can take them on the go!
  8. Charging cables – pretty sure my almost teen is constantly stealing mine so this makes a great filler! I love this five pack of a high speed charging cord (or go for these Easter colored ones)! Or grab them a dongle to use old headphones with new inputs!
  9. Mini handheld games – even better if they’re keychains like this one!
  10. Swirl ice cube stress balls – I wish I could tell you how much I personally love these.

Edible Easter Egg Fillers

While I don’t recommend doing all candy, these are some smaller food and drink items that would be fun in eggs for teens!

  1. Mini meat sticks – these ones are high in protein, low in sugar, and highly rated!
  2. Hydration packets – I love tossing these in my purse to use in a bottle of water!
  3. Mini snack packs – these chocolate dipped almonds come in a large pack that makes for a more gourmet egg hunt than just candy!
  4. Mini protein bars – my family loves these mini Perfect bars, just make sure not to leave them out too long!
  5. Mini sauces – grab a set of mini sauces and split them up in the hunt!
  6. Gum – I know it’s candy but a pack of gum feels more “expensive” than a piece of candy. You could even go with this fancier gum that I personally love!

Practical Easter Egg Fillers for Teens

  1. Gift cards to favorite restaurants, movie theaters, local places, etc.
  2. Gas cards for drivers
  3. Cash is always a win but not nearly as fun to pick out
  4. Car air freshener – grab one that goes in the vent like these rather than the hanging ones so it doesn’t block their view!

Tip!

Have a large bag or cardboard box for people to put their eggs into after they’ve opened them. No one really wants the eggs themselves but often they’ll take them home on accident (or without thinking about it) if you don’t have somewhere designated to put them. By having people turn them back in, you can reuse the same eggs year after year!

Easter Egg Fillers For Adults

While you can never go wrong with filling eggs for any age with a bit of candy, it’s always nice to have some other options. Many of the items on the teens list would also work for adults! I’d look at our list of stocking stuffers for adults if you need even more ideas!

These would also make great prizes to go in the eggs for any of these egg toss game ideas!

Practical Easter Egg Fillers for Adults

  1. Chapstick – get the good stuff and do this organic lip balm – comes in a six pack for the same price as the not so good stuff!
  2. Scratch off Lotto tickets – no idea why but these are always the biggest hit for our Christmas bingo!
  3. Cash – of course
  4. Beauty items – scrunchies, eyeshadows, eye masks, etc.
  5. Flashlights – these mini ones are perfect. You’ll be surprised how often you find yourself using it.
  6. Stress relief items – things like these Easter stress bunnies or these worry relief stones are great!
  7. Food items – any of the ones I mentioned above work for adults too!
  8. Practical items – things like these mini measuring tapes would be great!
  9. Post-it notes – yes, I said post-it notes. I can’t be the only one who loves them, especially the smaller bright colored ones like these!
  10. Mini purses or pouches – I love these mini jewelry traveling ones (they’re so pretty) or these silicones ones that come in different designs!

Fun Adult Easter Egg Fillers

  1. Pamper items – these mini organic bath bombs, these individual bath salts, or these individually packaged shower steamers would be great!
  2. Gourmet salt – something fancier like this Icelandic salt, adults are particular about their salt!
  3. Desk toys – little things to put on an adult’s desk like this fidget game cube or this rainbow worm would be fun on a desk!
  4. Drink mixers – perfect for making mocktails like these virgin pina coladas or these virgin mojitos
  5. Funny items – things like this tiny violin keychain or these mini knives would get a good laugh!
  6. Fandom items – anything that fits works great for a family that loves a particular thing! Like I know my family would love these Chiefs inspired bracelets or some Chiefs socks!
  7. Raffle tickets – then choose raffle winners for larger prizes after the hunt!
  8. Golden tickets – then let the people who found these pick out a larger prize like any of these Easter baskets for adults!
  9. Inspirational stickers – kids aren’t the only ones who like stickers. Grab some of these inspirational ones (or specific ones) and add them to cash and treats!
  10. Travel items – things like this mini sound machine (so good!) or travel flushable wipe packs or even a pill organizer (love mine!)

Tip!

Any of these Easter egg fillers would also make great prizes for any of these Easter games like Easter bingo or an Easter scavenger hunt!

Easter Egg Filler FAQs

What else can you put in an Easter egg?

There are a bunch of non-candy items you can put in an Easter egg. In this post, you’ll find ideas for all ages including adults, teens, tweens, and toddlers.

What are some inexpensive Easter egg fillers?

If you want inexpensive Easter egg fillers but don’t want to do just candy, try filling them with rewards kids can turn in after the Easter egg hunt. Or fill them with tokens and have kids turn in tokens for prizes. Or if you still want something tangible, buy small toys or trinkets, that kids will enjoy like bouncy balls and bubbles, in bulk.
