If you’re looking for jawsome shark party ideas that everyone will love no matter what age, you’ve come to the right place! We hosted a Shark Week watch party with all sorts of fun shark games, shark party food ideas, and of course shark watching!

Shark Birthday Party Ideas
While we had our shark party to watch Shark Week together, all of the ideas I’ve included in this post could easily be used for a shark movie night, shark birthday party, shark themed pool party, or really anything with a shark theme! I could see baby shark being a super cute baby shower theme!
Or take some of the ideas and use them for your next pool party or beach party theme – all of the shark party food ideas would go great with a beach theme!
Shark Party Food Ideas
The highlight of our shark party was all of the shark fun themed party food! I’ve included all of the food that we included as well as some fun shark themed drinks that aren’t shown in photos but that would be a perfect addition to the party!
Sharkcuterie Board
One of the highlights of our food table was a fun sharkcuterie board with lots of crackers, fruit, meats, and cheese cut into shark shapes (with these shark cookie cutters). This was a huge hit for everyone, especially the kids who absolutely loved the fun shaped cheese!
We also ordered these fun shark pencil holders to hold utensils and the tongs to pick up all of the snacks!
Shark Snacks
We used the same shark cookie cutters to make cheesy shark hand pies in the shape of shark fins. We used the same process as we did to make our Christmas hand pies but used the shark shape and a cheese filling instead of blueberry!
Since we had so many desserts on the table, the hand pies were a hit because they were a little more savory! We also served them with a marinara dipping sauce!
In addition to the hand pies, we served up some fruit with this creamy fruit dip. We cut the strawberries in a way that they looked like shark fins to make it look more sharky!
Shark Party Desserts
I have a bit of a sweet tooth, so I went a little overboard (pun intended) with the shark themed desserts, but it was totally worth it when I saw the kids (and adults) seeing all the fun details!
The star of the table were the shark cookies – and the Shark Week cookies at the front of the table. We used our cream cheese sugar cookies recipe with this cookie icing to make and decorate the cookies.
Tip!
I bought this letter set of cookie cutters a few years back, and we use it all the time for parties! It’s fun to add a statement to tables like we did with the Shark Week letters here!
We also served these super cute shark jello cups that everyone devoured, a shark themed cake one of my friends made, and hung shark teeth candy bracelets and shark candy necklaces on necklace hangers from my closet to finish off the table!
If you don’t have someone who can make a pretty shark themed cake like that, this super easy beach cake would work great too!
If it’s super hot out and you’re having the party outside, these blue popsicles with gummy sharks inside would be perfect too!
Shark Drinks
We had two different shark themed drinks for people to choose from – one was our shark punch and the other was our shark attack drink that include gummy sharks, some bloody grenandine, and lots of delicious flavors!
I enjoy both so I made both but you could totally just choose one or the other. Or if you don’t like either of those, this blue punch with gummy sharks on top would be great too! Or if you’re going for just beach themed, this mermaid punch would be a great option too!
Shark Party Decorations
We went pretty simple with our shark party decorations. I bought this shimmery tinsel backdrop for behind our table because it reminded me of the ocean. And then we set the table with this blue fishing net and some plastic toy sharks my boys had laying around, they were the perfect way to add some fun and color to the table without overwhelming all the food.
I don’t have pictures of it, but we also added this shark blanket and these fun shark pillows to our couch. The pillows have become a permanent part of our couch pillow set now because my boys loved them so much!
Shark Party Games & Activities
For our party, we didn’t do too much other than watching shows on Shark Week, but if you need more game and activity ideas, here are some that would be a lot of fun!
- Play sharks and minnows outside (or in the pool if it’s a pool party).
- Print out these printable shark activities that includes word searches, mazes, and more!
- Make these ocean sensory bins and let kids play with them – bonus because they’re edible!
- Let kids make ocean scenes out of this edible playdough – the blue would make for perfect sharks!
- Play Go Shark – a fun variation on go fish but with sharks instead!
Shark Party Favors
Last but definitely not least, we gave out a shark snack mix (bugles, gummy sharks, blue M&Ms, pretzel sticks, etc.) with little tags on them that said “Thanks for making today fintastic.”
Ours had the Shark Week schedule in it since it was a Shark Week viewing party, but I made a version without the Shark Week schedule you can download here if you’d like to use it to make your own!
