Breakfast Pizza with Biscuit Crust

One of my absolute favorite ways to create a recipe is to combine two of my favorites into one easy dish. For this sausage gravy breakfast pizza, I did just that. Biscuits and white sausage gravy + pizza = the ultimate breakfast comfort food.

And the best part? Like all of my recipes, these are simple to make and both kid and adult friendly!

This is also a fantastic way to use any leftover scrambled eggs that you might have from a previous breakfast.

Or is it just my kid who says he wants eggs and then when they’re cooked wants nothing to do with them?

If you’d prefer not to use store-bought biscuits, you could also make biscuits and gravy pizza just on traditional homemade pizza dough as well, it’s just not quite the same! It’s more of a breakfast pizza with sausage gravy than a biscuits and gravy pizza!

I do not recommend drop biscuits or my 3 ingredient sour cream biscuits – they just don’t work the same way for this!

Why you’ll love biscuits and gravy pizza

  • Classic flavors – you’ve probably tried breakfast pizza before but likely not like this! And you’ll love a different way to enjoy the flavors of biscuits and gravy!
  • Simple to make – since we’re using store-bought biscuits rather than homemade dough, this pizza is super simple to make! You could even use store-bought gravy if you really want to, but it’s not recommended!
  • Great for a crowd – need to feed a large crowd? Just grab some more cans of biscuits and this recipe will feed a whole group!

Ingredient Notes

  • Scrambled eggs – I use about 1/2 an egg per each pizza so depending on the number of pizzas you’re making, you’ll need one egg for each two biscuits.
  • Sausage gravy – I use this white sausage gravy recipe for these pizzas but you can use your favorite country gravy, sausage gravy, or even just gravy without meat. I just like the added protein and sausage flavor in mine!
  • Biscuits – I just used a pack of Pillsbury canned biscuits you can find the grocery store. They make great individual pizzas and give you that nice biscuit flavor! I’ve never tried this with homemade drop biscuits or even strawberry shortcake biscuits – I’d stick with the store-bought ones for pizza purposes.

How to make biscuits and gravy pizza

This pizza is super simple to make! It’s just making your gravy, making some scrambled eggs, and then baking it all together!

1 – Prep the Ingredients

  1. Preheat the oven to whatever it says on your biscuit package. Most are 350 degrees but I’ve seen some that cook a little hotter, you want to follow your biscuit package instructions for baking.
  2. Make your sausage gravy and scrambled eggs (if they’re not already cooked).

2 – Make the Biscuit and Gravy Pizza

  1. Open your biscuit package and roll each one out individually into a small about 8″ circle. Place on a pizza stone if you have one or on a parchment lined baking sheet, spaced out at least one inch apart.

  1. Top each biscuit with 1-2 tablespoons of gravy, spreading it around evenly. Then top each pizza with some of the scrambled eggs and 1 TBS of shredded cheddar cheese.

3 – Bake the Breakfast Pizzas

  1. Bake in the oven at the temperature indicated on the biscuit package for 12-15 minutes or until the biscuits are slightly browned. I like to cook mine on a pizza stone to get the biscuit crust a little more crispy but you can definitely bake them on a regular baking sheet as well.

  1. Remove the pizzas from the baking sheet and serve hot drizzled with maple syrup!

Tips & tricks

Try to make all of your biscuits as even as possible when rolling them out. That will ensure that all of the pizzas cook evenly!

Switch out the cheese for something else you love like mozzarella or just omit it all together if you don’t want cheddar cheese!

Store leftovers in the fridge for up to three days! Then place in a cold oven, preheat to 375 degrees, and let the breakfast pizzas warm up with the oven for perfect crispiness!

Yum, this is awesome. I just ate a cold half of a bagel. What I wouldn’t do for biscuits and gravy right now. I need to get my hands on this maple sausage and step up my game.

Wow, now this is most definitely a creative breakfast idea. I am typically at a loss for what to make so I appreciate any and all ideas. My boys would absolutely love this, especially if sausage was involved. Thanks for sharing your unique idea.

I love breakfast and I esp love sausage. Your recipe is a great idea to make something special for breakfast, yet not spend a ton of time doing it. Because of course in the morning, how much time do we really have to spend in the kitchen anyways.
