There are few things that remind me of my mom more than banana bread. She’s the first person that introduced me to banana bread as the perfect way to use those bananas that you just never got around to eating. She also taught me that banana bread needs, yes needs, nuts. The crunch of the walnuts in this recipe adds so much to the moist texture of the bread.
Now if you’re like me, you avoid eating those bananas just so that you can make banana bread with them once they’re just a little too ripe for eating in any other way.
The bread is so simple to make. First, gather your ingredients. In addition to the KRAFT MIRACLE WHIP Dressing and bananas, you’ll need flour, sugar, one egg, salt, baking soda, and Planters Walnuts.
Can I make this bread gluten-free?
I don’t recommend making this bread with gluten-free flour. Here’s a great gluten free banana bread recipe to try instead.
First, whisk your mashed bananas, KRAFT MIRACLE WHIP Dressing, and egg together until well combined.
In a separate bowl, mix all of the dry ingredients and chopped walnuts together.
Mix the dry ingredients into the banana mixture until just combined. Pour into a bread pan sprayed with nonstick baking spray then bake for about an hour or until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean. Once the bread is done, let it cool for 10 minutes on a wire rack.
And the last step? Slice and enjoy this yummy bread with your friends and family.
