If you’re ever on Pinterest, I’m sure you’ve seen the photo of the balloons taped to a person’s door as a fun way to start off someone’s birthday. I mean, it’s everywhere. I think that idea is awesome but you can’t do it every year, so try out these fun birthday scavenger hunt ideas this year instead.
How to Use This Birthday Scavenger Hunt
This birthday scavenger hunt is the perfect way to start someone’s day off right from the very moment they wake up. Instead of waiting until later at night to have cake and open presents, why not give them one or two right off the bat? I swear someone has proven in a study somewhere that your day goes better if it starts off well. If someone hasn’t proven it, I’d better start working on that because I swear it’s true.
I only created four clues because it’s just supposed to be a way to start off someone’s birthday happy, not their full gift. And I wrote the clues in an easy way to give them a couple of gifts along the way – their favorite breakfast or treat, a card (or something else) in the mailbox, and then finishing it off with an actual gift to open.
All you have to do is download the free printable scavenger hunt cards below, put one either under their door at night or if it’s someone who won’t wake up, right on their bedside table so they’ll see it as soon as they wake up. Make their favorite breakfast and leave the second card next to their breakfast plate.
Continue leaving clues and small little gifts (their favorite treat, a small gift card, tickets to see a movie, etc.) along the hunt with a larger more exciting gift at the end of the hunt.

This is so cute! My husband would probably love this! I almost tried doing the balloons on the door thing for Little J’s birthday, but I figured it would probably scare him to have a bunch of balloons fall on him when I opened his door in the morning!

Haha definitely understand that Chelsea, we did balloons in my son’s crib for him to play with. I’m going to try the balloon thing someday but thought this was a fun alternative for people who might not appreciate being scared with balloons. 🙂

Hi!
I can’t seem to be able to open the link to download the printables for the birthday boy. I’m doing this for my husband. Could you please email them to me? That would be wonderful.
Regards.

Hello… I am planning to do treasure hunt for my fiance on his birthday.. so can you let me know some ideas how to go for the treasure hunt.. any planned examples can I get
BritniV says
Totally depends on what kind of treasure hunt you’re looking for. I have Halloween, birthday, and anniversary themed scavenger hunts on my site that might work. If you’re looking for more pirate/treasure themed, I unfortunately don’t have anything but I’m sure you can find something on Pinterest. Sorry!

I am planning my 50th and would like to send my friends on a scavenger hunt throughout the city. Any ideas on how to plan that would be helpful. Thx!!

Are you wanting to send them on a scavenger hunt to find particular locations (e.g., the library, McDonalds, etc.) or to find certain things (e.g., a statue, a water fountain, etc.)? Or you’re going to give them a clue at home that leads them to another clue in another location, etc.? Totally depends on what you’re looking to do – I’ve done all three before. 🙂

There should be four clues in the PDF, it’s meant to be a quick hunt to get to their birthday surprise.
