This simple Christmas tree cake dip combines Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes with Cool Whip, and vanilla for a creamy Christmas dessert dip that’s your guests will love. Add some Christmas sprinkles on top to give it even more of a festive look!

bowl of Christmas tree cake dip

Is it really Christmas without Little Debbie Christmas tree cakes? They’re one of my favorite Little Debbie snack cakes, right up there with a good Star Crunch and Swiss Roll Cake!

So I thought it would be fun to turn them into a dip so everyone can enjoy the flavors of Christmas tree cakes in a yummy holiday dessert!

This Christmas tree cake dip is a delicious Christmas dessert that will have everyone asking for more. It’s made with Little Debbie Christmas tree cakes and Cool Whip, so you really can’t go wrong.

The best part? You don’t need to bake anything – just cut, mix, and enjoy!

It’d be great for a Christmas games night, a Christmas movie night (along with some Christmas movie trivia), or just as an addition to any Christmas dessert spread! You could even put it on a dessert board along with some cookies as your main dip!

I shared this earlier on TikTok and people were loving it, so I knew it was time to share it here as well!

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • 3-ingredients – other than sprinkles, which are optional but a fun addition, there are only three ingredients to this recipe. And one of those is the Christmas tree cakes!
  • Fun and festive – if you add sprinkles, this is one of the most festive dessert dips you’ll find!

Ingredient Notes

  • Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes – you’ll need eight cakes. Most of the boxes I’ve seen come with six cakes, so you’ll need two boxes.
  • Cool Whip – this is best with the extra creamy Cool Whip but you can also make it with regular if that’s all you have.
  • Sprinkles – these are totally optional but really add a nice festive touch to this Christmas tree cake dip. I like larger sprinkles but little nonpareils can be used as well.

How to Make Christmas Tree Cake Dip

This Christmas tree cake dip is a great addition to any Christmas party whether you’re hosting with one of these more unique Christmas party themes or just doing a standard Christmas party with a white elephant gift exchange.

Either way, it’s an easy, quick, and festive dessert that’ll be the hit of the party!

Start by cutting your Christmas tree cakes into small pieces. They’re soft enough that you can just cut them all at once using a large knife or cut them individually. You want them to be small bite-sized chunks not totally mashed up pieces.

The goal is 1/2 inch wide pieces. Once they’re all chopped, add those into a large bowl.

Then fold in the Cool Whip and vanilla gently. Just like before, you don’t want to mash all of those Christmas tree cakes, you just want to gently mix them together with the other ingredients.

Once that’s thoroughly mixed, add your sprinkles if using. Fold them in gently. The color from the sprinkles may bleed into the white color of the dip but that won’t change the yummy flavor!

Move the dip into a bowl and top with more sprinkles. Then serve with cookies, graham crackers, or fresh fruit. I personally love dipping these sugar cookie bites in this dip!

Expert Tips

Half the recipe for a smaller crowd by simply halving the ingredients to four Christmas tree cakes and 4 oz Cool Whip. You can also double this recipe if you need to feed a larger crowd or think you’ll eat it all yourself!

Store in the refrigerator if made in advance and store any leftovers in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to five days. The dip may thicken after a day or two but should still taste fine.

Return to the refrigerator after leaving the dip out for two hours. You don’t want to leave it out much longer than that because of the Cool Whip and the cakes will start hardening.
