This Easter dice game is a great way to add a little dice rolling fun to your Easter celebrations! It’s a game so easy that everyone can play and everyone will want to with prizes involved!

Easter Egg Exchange Game
You all know I love dice games. From this viral dice gift exchange to these dice centered birthday party games, dice games are my favorite!
My kids love a good Easter egg hunt but what about after the egg hunt is over? We typically play Easter games as a family. I like to come up with games that the whole family can play regardless of age, and this one is just that because it’s really just rolling a dice and passing around plastic eggs!
We played this with my kids, my adult siblings, my parents, and even my grandma and had a great time! Best of all, it took no prep other than printing out the game sheets and filling the eggs!
Supplies
You don’t need much for this printable Easter game, but I’ve included a list of supplies below so you can gather what you need before you play!
- Printable Easter dice game – download it at the bottom of this post or get it in my shop here. It’s also part of my Easter games bundle!
- 1 filled Easter egg per person (minus one) – here are some great Easter egg filler ideas. It’s more fun if you make these different colors or designs (this pack has a bunch of patterns AND a gold egg that would be perfect) but you could just do different colors and sizes too. It’s just to help people keep track of what’s inside!
- 1 filled plastic gold egg – this is optional but a really fun element. I did one gold egg and told everyone that the gold egg had the biggest prize out of all the eggs! You’ll have one gold egg, which is why you need one prize egg per person minus one (above). If you get this patterned egg pack, it comes with a gold egg!
- 1 six-sided die – I love using a larger die like this one so everyone can see! Also, I recommend a large wood one versus the cheap foam ones that don’t roll as well!

Easter Egg Dice Game Prep
There are just a few things you need to do before you play this game, but they’re the key to the game!
- Print out the dice game key. I recommend having at least a handful to pass around the circle, typically one for every 3-4 people to share. Or just print out a giant one and tape it on the wall for everyone to see!
- Decide how many rounds you want to play. I always like to go at least two rounds and sometimes three if the group is smaller than 10 or you want it to go on a little longer. You can really play as many rounds you want but 2-3 is ideal.
- Clear out an area to play. You can either play at a table or sitting on the ground in the circle. Or on the couch, but it makes it harder to keep track of who has which eggs.
- Fill your eggs. I’ve included details on filling the eggs below but you’ll need to fill one gold egg and then one other egg for everyone playing. So if you have 10 people playing, you’ll need one gold and nine others.
What to Put In Your Eggs
You can put anything you want in your eggs but this is how I did it, and it worked great. I’ve written out numbers for a group of 10 so adapt accordingly.
- Put a zonk in 1 or 2 of the eggs. It can still be something but something of way less value like I did a bouncy ball and called it our “zonk.” Zonk comes from our let’s make a deal game and is basically a bogus prize. Maybe skip the zonk if you’re playing with young kids.
- Put small prizes in five of the eggs. We did candy, small amounts of cash, and other things from this Easter egg fillers list.
- Put large prizes in 2-3 of the eggs. We did gift cards (well a sticker to represent a gift card) and larger amounts of cash.
- Put a jumbo prize in 1 golden egg. This should be the biggest prize you put in the eggs, even if it’s just bigger by $1.

How to play this Easter Dice Game
If you’ve ever done a gift exchange with dice (like our December dice game), this game works similarly.
- Have everyone sit in a circle and pass out eggs. You can let them pick from an Easter basket or just hand them out randomly.
- Choose one person to start the game and give them the die.
- The first person rolls the die and follows the instructions based on what they roll, then passes the die clockwise around the circle. I’ve included details below about the different actions and what they mean!
- Go all the way around the circle so everyone has a turn. This completes one round.
- Play as many rounds as you decided before the game. Once the last die is rolled, the game is over and everyone gets whatever is in their egg.
Actions
- Roll 1 – the person who rolls switches their egg with the person on their right.
- Roll 2 – the person who rolls switches their egg with the person on their left.
- Roll 3 – everyone in the circle passes their egg to the right.
- Roll 4 – everyone in the circle passes their egg to the left.
- Roll 5 – open your egg. This is the only time eggs are opened, otherwise it’s just a surprise until the end!
- Roll 6 – switch your egg with anyone EXCEPT the gold egg. If they could switch with the gold egg, everyone would just go for gold!

Note – This is an updated version!
If you have played this game in the past, we have changed the card and the rules slightly. Still same idea but different card because we thought this way worked better. If you’d prefer the old cards, you can still download them here – they just aren’t quite as fun!
