I have been extremely lucky since I moved to Kansas. I found the perfect neighborhood for my family. You know, that cul-de-sac that spray paints kickball bases onto the road and there are always kids running around playing while parents sit in a driveway and hang out.
That’s my neighborhood.
With so much time spent playing outdoors, I felt inspired to come up with a list of giant outdoor games you can buy that are great for any occasion and age.
There’s something for everyone on this list, from oversized bowling to cornhole to glow-in-the-dark giant ring toss. This selection of giant games includes everything you could need for some outdoor fun this summer, a summer party, or even a backyard bbq!

This ring toss game is a great choice for anyone who can stay up late enough for it to get dark in the summer. This fun game would be perfect to pull out at a Fourth of July party before the fireworks start. If you don’t want a giant ring toss set like this one, you could also make a DIY ring toss as well!
Another twist on a classic board game, these giant dice bring a whole new level of excitement to Yahtzee. It’s also a great option for a large group since you can have any number of people playing at one time. If you don’t want to play lawn Yahtzee, there are tons of giant yard dice games you could play instead! While I love the look of the giant wooden dice set, you could also do jumbo foam dice like these ones instead.
This game will test your hand-eye coordination as you try and land tennis balls in these oversized cups before the other team does. If you don’t want to buy the game, you could always just DIY this one with buckets and plastic cups at home. Check out my outdoor games post to get ideas on how you can mix it up and add a fun water element.
This variation of darts is played with inflatable darts that you toss onto different playing mats that you can choose! For added fun pull out your sidewalk chalk and make your own targets.
Enjoy the popular game of dominos but with pieces bigger than your hand in this fun giant dominoes game. This oversized version can be used to play a bunch of different games. Just imagine the fun you’d have to try to build a long chain on your driveway or deck!
This portable tower is great for a little friendly competition. See who can make the most points by making bean bags into the cups. This great outdoor game works for a variety of different ages by simply moving the starting line.
Kids of all ages will love this silly fast-paced game. Inflate the buckets then secure them on your head as you and your partner try to score the most points by catching the balls in their buckets. Change out the balls for water balloons for an easy water game.
People of all ages love spike ball, there are even college teams dedicated to it now. If you haven’t tried it, it’s really a lot of fun. The object of this competitive game is to have the ball hit the ground on the opposing team’s turn. This game is a fun way to get moving and enjoy the outdoors, regardless of skill levels. This is one of our favorite outdoor games for a reason!
This great game is guaranteed to be a good time. The object of the game is simple, score the most points by throwing the ball through the holes in the tower. Move where the throwing person stands to change up the difficulty.
This is a great option for younger children. Find a large open area and let them have fun bowling with these oversized bowling pins and balls. These also make great gifts for kids who like to play outside!
As a personal family favorite, this is one of the best outdoor games on the market in my opinion. Team up and score points with a partner by throwing a frisbee and trying to hit the cans. Great for family gatherings, this game has been played almost every time my family has gotten all together. We have some pretty great memories with games being super close!
This game has several names, like Polish horseshoes and Bottle Bash, I just call it fun. Grab a partner and try to knock down the bottle using a frisbee. The catch is you can’t let the bottle hit the ground, so the partner has to catch it! It’s not only fun to play, but really entertaining to watch!
I had to include a golfing game since my family is obsessed with all things golf at the moment. This chipping version of cornhole uses golf balls and a chipping mat instead of bean bags. It also has more holes to score points in! May the best chipper win!
Another personal family favorite that works perfectly in any open field. The first player to make it threw all the stakes wins! But watch out if your ball gets close to enemy territory, they can hit your ball to sabotage you along the way.
Fun fact, there are some public schools that offer cornhole as a PE class. I was surprised too at first, but now that I own one it makes sense, this game is fun! A great addition to any tailgating party or backyard BBQ. You really can’t go wrong with cornhole.
This game is a combination of four-square and volleyball, where you use volleyball techniques to try and make it to the top square where you can score points. Crossnet can be played with an unlimited number of players which makes it great for a larger group.
Another crossover game that combines tennis rules and soccer skills. It’s a great way to practice soccer skills without having to have access to a large field. Perfect for any soccer loving family!
I couldn’t leave this classic outdoor game off the list. Players pull one piece out at a time, the first person to make the tower fall down loses while the rest of the players win. Simple but super fun and one of the easiest giant garden games for younger and older children alike to play.
This oversized dart board would be perfect to hang up in any backyard so it can be enjoyed all summer long. Added bonus, it uses velcro balls rather than sharp darts so you don’t have to worry about breaking a window or protecting your house.
A great way for any chess-loving people to enjoy some fresh air. It could also be really fun if you were planning a Harry Potter-themed birthday party since there’s a form of giant chess in the books! Not into chess? Giant checkers is a great option too!
Get those kiddos out for some fresh air while still learning with this oversized matching game. For added fun spread out the pieces and make it a race to see who can get matches first.

This party game can be played in teams or as an individual. The goal is to throw your assigned ball and be the closest to the target white ball. Great game for anyone to play. If you want it to be harder, throw the target ball toward obstacles!
There was no way for me to not put this on the list, especially since this game has become so popular. If you aren’t lucky enough to have a court around to play, this travel set is a great option, plus it comes with a carry bag. You could even have this setup on the side of the yard for people to rotate through and play during any outdoor party!
This family game is a lot of fun for all ages, making it one of the best giant outdoor games on this list! It’s a simple game that’s great for birthday parties, outdoor events, and even a family reunion! And all you need is a flat surface!
This giant version of the classic game is great for outdoor play because it’s easy to setup (just put out the sticks) and it really doesn’t take much skill at all! Plus, out of all of the options on this list, it’s one of the cheapest games for outdoor play!
This game may look unassuming but let me assure you, it’s actually so much fun! We’ve been playing this at my parents house all summer and it’s a game of skill mixed with a lot of luck! It’s as fun for the adults as it is for the kids!
If you don’t have a lot of space to store giant backyard games, look for a giant game rental option locally to you. You could rent the giant games you want for family events or corporate events just for the event then return it. It’s honestly typically just cheaper to buy the lawn games if you’re going to use them more than once but renting is an option if you don’t have space.
