This Reese’s peanut butter pie is the perfect combination of chocolate, peanut butter, cream cheese, and whipped cream. It’s the ultimate dessert for anyone who loves peanut butter and chocolate and because it’s no-bake, it’s easy enough for anyone to make!
Easy Peanut Butter Pie
There are a few combinations that just go together. Peanut butter and jelly. Grilled cheese and tomato soup. Milk and cookies.
Peanut butter and chocolate.
This easy peanut butter pie takes that classic combination and elevates it a level with the addition of a graham cracker crust, cream cheese, and whipped cream.
It’s easy to make, delicious, and an absolute winner for anyone who likes peanut butter and chocolate together.
So if you’re looking for a dessert to take to a backyard barbecue, a baby shower, a party during the holiday season, or even just something to enjoy with your family at night – this is it! It’s one of my personal favorite peanut butter desserts
Reese’s Peanut Butter Pie Ingredients
The ingredients in this easy peanut butter pie are actually very similar to the ones in striped delight. I won’t judge you if you want to make both of them the same day!
Here’s everything you’ll need and my recommendations for brands, what type to use, etc.
- Graham cracker pie crust – you can either use store-bought or make your own by combining 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs, 6 TBS melted butter, and 1/3 cup sugar together then pressing the mixture firmly into a 9 inch pie dish. People have also said this is good on an Oreo crust, but I save those for my Oreo dirt cake.
- Hot fudge sauge – store-bought works fine or you can use this homemade hot fudge if you want to make your own
- Cream cheese – this will need to be softened so make sure and take it out of the fridge about an hour before you want to make this pie
- Peanut butter – make sure it’s creamy, crunchy won’t work for this although it is my favorite for peanut butter sandwiches. You want creamy peanut butter filling full of peanut butter flavor!
- Confectioner’s sugar – also known as powdered sugar
- Cool Whip – make sure it’s something like Cool Whip and not spray whip cream or homemade whipped cream, those won’t work the same. Also make sure it’s thawed, not frozen
- Mini Reese’s peanut butter cups – I like to use the mini ones in this but you could also use regular size and just chop them up. Or if you really, you could use giant peanut butter cups and chop them up into small pieces.
How to Make Reese’s Peanut Butter Pie
This Reese’s peanut butter pie is a no bake dessert that’s fairly simple to make, but it does need to chill in the fridge for a few hours, so make sure you plan ahead for that!
Here’s how you make it. If you have any additional questions, leave me a comment and I’ll do my best to respond as soon as possible!
If you’re more of a visual person, check out the video below to see how easy it is to make this Reese’s peanut butter pie recipe!
1 – Heat the hot fudge
Heat your hot fudge until it’s warm and easy to pour. You can either do this over the stovetop (but don’t burn it or heat it up more than until it’s easy to pour) or in the microwave by heating for about 15 seconds.
Once the hot fudge is pourable, pour 1/3 cup of the hot fudge sauce onto the graham cracker crust and gently smooth out until it covers the entire crust. Set aside the extra to drizzle on top of the pie when serving.
2 – Make the peanut butter pie filling
Beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and peanut butter together in a medium bowl with a hand mixer until smooth.
Fold in half of the whipped topping with a spatula (don’t use a mixer or you’ll lose the fluffiness of the filling). This will give you a fluffy peanut butter mixture.
3 – Add filling to peanut butter pie
Spoon the filling on top of the hot fudge sauce in the graham cracker crust. Top with the remaining whipped topping.
4 – Chill
Chill the pie for 2 hours or until firm.
5 – Garnish and serve sliced
When you’re ready to serve the pie, top with chopped peanut butter cups and a drizzle of hot fudge. Or you can leave off the hot fudge and let people add on their own when they get a piece of the pie.
If you’re feeling really fancy, you could also serve it with a melted peanut butter drizzle, melted chocolate drizzle, chopped peanuts, or really anything else that sounds good to you!
Just look at that delicious peanut butter filling – it’s the perfect pie for anyone with a sweet tooth or anyone’s who likes Reese’s cups (or peanut butter).
Storage & Expert Tips
Cover and refrigerate the pie until ready to serve. Place any leftovers back in the refrigerator either wrapped in plastic wrap or in an airtight container for up to five days.
Don’t add the chopped Reese’s peanut butter cups and chocolate drizzle until just about ready to serve. These are a great garnishes to add last minute! If you want to make it as fast as possible, you can chop up the Reese’s peanut butter cups beforehand.
Serve this peanut butter cup pie any time of the year. It’s delicious as a summer dessert, for Thanksgiving, or really anytime you just want a yummy dessert!
Recipe FAQs
Can you freeze peanut butter pie?
Yes, this is actually a great pie to freeze! Freeze in an airtight container for up to 3 months. Just one note if you do want to freeze this – I recommend freezing just the pie without the Reese’s peanut butter cups or drizzle on top, then just garnish it when you’re ready to eat. When you’re ready to enjoy, thaw in the refrigerator until soft enough to eat.
Does Peanut Butter Pie Need To Be Refrigerated?
Yes, since this uses cream cheese and whipped cream – both dairy items, the pie should be refrigerated before serving and after you’re done enjoying the pie.
How Long Will Peanut Butter Pie Last In The Refrigerator?
The peanut butter pie will last for 4-5 days in the refrigerator, if you don’t eat it all first! If you can’t eat it all by then, I recommend freezing it and enjoying later.
