Easy Olympic Party Ideas
With the Winter Olympic Games just around the corner, I thought it would be fun to share some Olympics party ideas so you can host a little winter games of your own while you watch the Milano winter games!
I’ve split this guide into three different sections – food, things to do, and decorations and party favors. It’s literally everything you need in one place to host a competition of epic proportions this summer!

I use the term party loosely. All of these ideas work well whether you just want to have a watch party, fun themed family night, a big blowout summer party, or a super small group gathering with just a few friends. The ideas can all be used with whatever level of get together you’re most comfortable with!
Olympic Party Food Ideas
Any good get together, no matter what size has some sort of fun themed snacks and drinks! I’ve put together a collection of my personal favorite Olympic themed food ideas!
Olympic Torch Cupcakes
Give out Olympic torches to all of your guests with these delicious cupcakes with fiery frosting!
Make these delicious rice krispy treats then top them with red, white, and blue toppings to support team USA! Or if rice krispy treats aren’t your thing, any of these other red, white, and blue desserts would be good too!

Make these delicious rainbow donuts in the colors of the Olympics rings for a yummy themed treat! Or make these cut out sugar cookies into rings using two circle cookie cutters and decorate them in the ring colors! Or you could really use any of these donut party ideas if you make the donuts ring colored!

Olympic Games Competiiton

If you want games that are a bit quicker, choose a handful from these over 200 minute to win it games and split into teams. Have one person from each team compete and then tally up the final scores per team for your gold medal winning team!
Use this DIY ring toss tutorial to make your very own ring toss game with bottles the colors of the Olympic rings! Then see who can toss rings around them to score points!
Let kids make these super fun Olympic torches with just a few supplies you probably already have at home! Plus, if you add a little tea light inside, they actually light up!
This Olympic wind sock craft is so easy that kids of all ages could make it! Plus, Handmade by Kelly shares a printable label that you can literally just print to use for the top! These would be super fun hanging in your yard or house.
Setup a station with craft paint, rocks, and pictures of world flags. Let guests paint their favorite flags or Olympic designs as a souvenir to take home!

Colored Wreath Rings
These painted foam wreaths make a huge statement and work great as Olympic rings! The ones shown in the picture were created by Grey Grey Designs (that no longer exists), but I’ve linked to a tutorial that shows you how to do the same thing!
I love how simple this idea from Savannah Smiled is – colored balloons hung at heights to look like the Olympic rings! Get more great ideas for decorations as well. You could totally just put bunches of balloons around as well!
Print out flags of all sorts of different countries and line the walkway with them. Make it even more fun by assigning teams to different countries and letting them walk in for the opening ceremonies to start the fun!
Let kids make paper chains out of Olympic ring colors then hang them all around the room for added pops of color and texture! Get the full tutorial from House of Lars.

If you want something they can keep as a memento forever, these fun gold medal necklaces sporting the Olympics motto of Stronger, Higher, Faster would be a great parting gift as well! You could even just put these out for people to add their own sayings if you have the materials on hand!
