Snickers Bar Brownies

There is something magical about the combination in a Snickers candy bar – chocolate, caramel, nuts, and a nougat layer. I’ve recreated that same combination in this Snickers brownie recipe, so I could say they’re magical too!

These brownies start with a layer of brownie batter (not to be mistaken with edible brownie batter, which is also delicious) that gets topped with a caramel peanut layer then covered with a final brownie layer.

The end result is one of the most rich, most decadent, and most delicious baked brownies you’ll ever try. If you’re in the mood for an indulgent dessert, these decadent Snickers brownies will be right up your alley!

Why you’ll love these brownies

  • Same flavors as Snickers – if you love Snickers, you will love these because they use similar flavors as the the candy bars! What’s not to love?
  • Easy to make – these are made with a box of brownie mix then topped with simple caramel layer and candy pieces. A batch of these Snickers brownies only takes a few minutes to throw together!
  • Great use of leftover candy – everyone has a bag of leftover Halloween candy that needs to be used. I know Snickers is the best candy bar, but I’m sure you can spare a few for these! These brownies are the perfect way to do just that.

Ingredient Notes

  1. Brownie mix – you can use any brand you want in these fudgy Snickers brownies, or if you have extra time try these homemade brownies with it. They don’t have the same fudgy texture, but they’re still yummy!
  2. Snickers bar – I found three full-sized bars were perfect but you can use mini or fun-size too. You can also use any of your favorite candy bars instead, such as Milky Way or Twix.
  3. Heavy cream – this makes the richest caramel but if in a pinch you can use whole milk or half and half.
  4. Caramel Bits – these work great for making an easy caramel sauce, however, you can always use a store-bought caramel sauce instead. You can also use caramel squares but they will take longer to melt.
  1. Vegetable oil – you can easily replace this with avocado oil or coconut oil if you’d prefer but know that coconut oil does have its own distinct flavor you might taste a little.

How to Make snickers brownies

Making these Snickers brownies is really easy. If you’ve made brownies before, you can make these!

Partially baked brownies are topped with gooey caramel and candy bars before being covered in another layer of brownie batter and then baked to gooey perfection.

Find the full recipe card at the bottom of the post or follow along here for step-by-step instructions with pictures for reference.

1 – Make The Brownie Batter

  1. Preheat the oven to the recommended temperature for the brownies you are using.
  2. Spray a 9″ x 9″ pan with non-stick cooking spray or line with parchment paper to make sure brownies are easy to remove from the pan.
  3. Prepare brownie batter according to package directions in a large bowl.

2 – Prepare The Layers

  1. Pour half the batter into the prepared pan.
  2. Bake for six minutes, remove from the oven and set aside.
  3. While the bottom layer of brownies is baking, combine the caramel and heavy cream in a microwave safe bowl.
  4. Microwave for 25 seconds, stir, then repeat until caramels are completely melted and smooth.

3 – Layer The Brownies

  1. Place chopped Snickers bars evenly over the partially baked brownie layer. Try to spread them out all around the chocolate layer so each Snickers brownie actually has Snickers in it!

  1. Drizzle with all of the melted caramel sauce. Again, try to drizzle it as evenly as possible so that every brownie has a good amount of caramel on it!

  1. Take the remaining brownie batter and pour batter over the Snickers and caramel layer then use a spatula to spread it evenly.

4 – Bake And Serve

  1. Bake the layered brownies for the remaining cooking time that is recommended on the brownie package, or until a toothpick comes out free of uncooked brownie batter.
  2. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for a few minutes. They are easier to cut once they are cooled, but delicious warm as well!
  3. Once cooled, use a sharp knife or a plastic knife (sounds weird, but it works!) to cut the Snickers brownies into even squares.

  1. Enjoy them warm or at room temperature. Top brownies with extra caramel or melted chocolate for even more decadent brownies. Or my favorite way to eat them is with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top!

Expert Tips and Storage Information

The best way to cut a brownie is to use a plastic knife.

Easily mix up the filling to make your personal favorite candy bar brownies. If you love Almond Joys use a chocolate sauce instead of caramel and top it with a layer of candy and shredded coconut.

Store at room temperature in an airtight container or covered with plastic wrap for up to three days or until they begin to harden.
