Strawberry Lemonade Sorbet
I’m a huge fan of frozen desserts whether it be birthday cake ice cream or ice cream cake. But sometimes you just want something fruity and cold, and that’s why we started making this strawberry lemon sorbet.
When you want something fresh like a smoothie but with the frozen texture of ice cream, this strawberry sorbet is just the thing. We’ve been making it for the past ten years regularly during the summer, and it’s always a huge hit with both kids and adults!
I originally shared this recipe back in 2015 when we first got our fancy blender, and I’ve since updated it to make the flavor even more delicious!
Why You’ll Love This Sorbet
- Only 4-ingredients – this is made in minutes with ingredients you likely already have in your freezer! That’s why it’s a favorite in our house, I can make it pretty much all the time!
- Easy to make for a group – need something to serve for a large group at a party? You can easily double or triple this recipe and just store it in a larger pan or make multiple batches. The actual making process is so simple – as long as you have space to freeze it, you can make a lot at once!
- No-churn recipe – no need to use an ice cream maker for this sorbet, just blend and freeze!

Ingredient Notes + Substitutions
- Strawberry and pineapple – it’s much quicker to make this with frozen strawberry and frozen pineapple but if you don’t have either, you can make this with fresh as well. Cut the fruit up into tiny pieces and freeze for 6 hours before you use it in this!
- Lemon – make sure to use fresh lemon juice and lemon zest, not bottled. The fresh lemon juice has well, a fresh flavor, that pasteurized lemon juice doesn’t. Bottled is often a lot more concentrated as well so just grab a lemon and use that!
- Simple syrup – you can use simple syrup from the store (we always have it in our fridge) or you can make it using the instructions I’ve included in this post. I prefer homemade simple syrup when I have time simply because I can control the amount of sweetness in it!
How to make A strawberry lemonade Sorbet
This is pretty much the easiest recipe ever! I’ve included basic instructions below but make sure to check out the recipe card at the bottom of the post to get the full measurements and details!
- Combine the frozen fruit, simple syrup, juice, and zest in either a food processor blender. Blend until the fruit is completely smooth, it’ll likely still be fairly thick, but there shouldn’t be chunks of fruit.
- Move the sorbet to a metal bread pan and use a rubber spatula to even out the top.
- Place the bread pan in the freezer and freeze for 5-6 hours to chill completely.
Once the sorbet is chilled, remove from the freezer and let the strawberry sorbet thaw for 15-20 minutes at room temperature to get to the right consistency to scoop and serve!
How to store strawberry lemon sorbet
If you’re not planning on serving the sorbet immediately, wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and leave in the freezer for up to three months. Remove and thaw for 15-20 minutes before you’re planning to serve.
If you thaw and serve the sorbet and have leftovers, you can transfer any extras to a smaller container (if you want to take up less space in the freezer) or just wrap it back up and put it back in the freezer.
Other Sorbet Flavors to Try
Love this strawberry lemonade sorbet? Try it with different flavors next time. As long as you stick to the same amount of fruit, simple syrup, and lemon juice – you can mix up the fruits you use! Here are some of my favorite variations!
- Strawberry mango sorbet – switch out the frozen pineapple with frozen mango
- Tropical sorbet – switch out the frozen strawberries with one cup mango and one cup passionfruit.
- Mixed berry lemonade sorbet – switch out the pineapple with a two cups of mixed berries or one cup frozen blackberries and one cup frozen blueberries.
- Strawberry mojito sorbet – switch out the lemon juice with lime juice and add a little fresh mint to get more of a strawberry mojito mocktail flavor!
Recipe FAQs
My blender is too small to fit everything. How do I make this?
Split the recipe in half and make two batches instead of trying to fit it all in. You want there to be space in the blender or food processor to actually process the ingredients.
Do I need the pineapple?
The pineapple adds a lot of the sweetness to this recipe. If you’d prefer to just do strawberry and lemon, you can do four cups of frozen strawberries and skip the pineapple – but I would increase the sweetness in the simple syrup to make up for the lost sweetness.
Helpful Tips
If you don’t think you’ll be eating it all at once, I recommend splitting the sorbet mixture into smaller airtight containers and just leaving them in the freezer until you’re ready to enjoy. We often will often split it into eight different servings containers so we can just thaw and enjoy one serving at a time instead of the entire thing!
Garnish with fresh strawberry or fresh pineapple, lemon wheels, and even mint!
