Hosting an apple party is easier than slicing an apple with these fun apple party ideas! With everything from apple party decorations to a caramel apple bar, you’ll have everything you need for an amazing apple extravaganza.

When people think of fall they almost always jump straight to pumpkin. Not me. When I think of fall, I think of apples and then eventually get around to pumpkin. And pumpkin crunch cake, but that’s a whole different discussion.
Since my kids love apple picking and just apple season in general, I thought it’d be fun to host an apple themed party and share all of the fun apple themed ideas I could find with you! It’s one of my favorite fall party themes ever!
Apple Decorations for a Party
I’ve hosted two different apple parties now – and there are so many different ways you can decorate for an apple party. These are just a couple of my personal favorites that would work for cute baby shower themes, bridal showers, fall parties, and more!
Use an Apple Inspired Color Scheme
Forget typical fall color palettes and focus apple inspired colors instead. I just used a green tablecloth with a red gingham runner to match the printables I used in this particular party. Then everything else on the table including the food and food labels were red and green!
And behind the table, I created an apple-like backdrop by folding green and red scrapbook paper and stringing it together. Such an easy way to add some color to our boring gray wall. You could also use these apple party fans if you want to do actual apples!
Printable Apple Party Decorations
For my most recent apple party I made an entire set of custom apple party printables and used that to tie everything together throughout the party. You can download the printable set at the bottom of this post – it includes everything from food labels to a hanging banner!
Decorate with Apples
Apples make great decorations and if you need ideas, this party has tons of different ways to incorporate apples into table decorations, place settings, hanging garlands and more. And it really doesn’t get much easier than just piling apples (in a perfectly designed manner of course) on a table.
Pick the outdoors
Everyone loves apple picking and if you can’t host your party at an apple orchard, the next best thing is to take it outdoors and make it feel like an apple orchard with crates, scales, and greenery like they did in this apple of our eye baby shower.
Apple Party Food Ideas
It’s an apple party so of course the food and drinks have to be apple themed, and I have all sorts of delicious apple recipes you can use in your next apple party!
Caramel Apple Nacho Bar
Instead of serving actual caramel apples, setup a caramel apple nacho bar where everyone can pile their plate high with apples then drizzle them with their favorite caramel apple toppings like chocolate, nuts, and candies!
We’ve done all sorts of food bars (s’mores bars, nacho bars, etc.) in the past and this was maybe one of our favorites!
Tip!
Unlike with actual caramel apples, toppings on caramel apple nachos don’t actually have to stay on the apple – just go on top. That means you can have some bigger topping options like full M&Ms, candy corn, etc. You can chop them up if you want but it’s not as necessary as if you were dipping caramel apples.
Caramel Apple Board
Pick out your favorite caramel apple toppings and make a caramel apple board with sliced apples (add a little lemon juice to prevent browning), different types of caramel for dipping, and the toppings. This is a fun way to have a caramel apple making party too!
Apple Recipes
If you don’t want to set up a caramel apple bar, you can also just serve up a bunch of apple themed foods! These are some of my favorite apple recipes but anything apple works!
- Caramel apple cupcakes
- Cream cheese caramel apple dip
- Apple pie cups (only 2-ingredients!)
- Caramel apple bark
- Pomegranate feta salad (with apples)
Tip!
If you have something you want to make that’s not apple themed, make it apple themed by adding one of the cute apple printables to the top with a toothpick. I’ve done that with everything from cupcakes to mini pies in the past.
Apple Party Drinks
Don’t forget the drinks to wash down all of those delicious apple treats! You can serve up just normal apple cider (and maybe some sparkling), apple juice, or water with cute printables to make it apple themed!
Or if you want to go fancier, served up one of these apple drinks!
- Spiced apple cider
- Caramel apple drink
- Homemade wassail (with an apple cider base)
Apple Party Games & Activities
If you want to add some more fun into your apple party, try out some games with apples or other apple themed activities. These are some of my favorite activities we’ve done in the past at our apple parties!
Apple Iron Chef Competition
Instead of making all of the food yourself, turn the potluck portion of the party into an apple themed iron chef competition and have everyone bring their best apple recipe to share. Make up little voting ballots and let people vote on their favorites – making sure to have some sort of apple themed prizes for the winners!
Winners took home golden apples labeled with their winning category. Any of these would also make great prize ideas!
- An Apple gift card
- Apple Airpods ( a little extravagant but everyone would love to win!)
- Apple themed cookbook
Play Games with Apples
Pick some of these fall party games that use apples (like apples away) and play together. It’s an easy way to add some laughs without too much effort!
Or you could always play Apples to Apples – one of my least favorite board games, but I know people love it.
Caramel Apple Walk
You’ve probably done a cake walk or even a cupcake walk but you’ve probably never done a caramel apple walk! Put circles down on the ground with either numbers – or if you want to go totally apple themed use names of apple types – and then put the same in a bucket.
Have everyone walk around while some fall themed music plays and when it stops, whoever is on the number/apple that gets picked out of the bucket wins a fancy caramel apple! Or if you don’t want to give out caramel apples, you could give out Rocky Mountain Chocolate gift cards to pick out their own!
Do Apple Crafts & Activities
Want some low key things to do? Try one of these apple crafts and activities that are perfect for the youngest apple lovers!
- Apple popsicle stick craft
- Pumpkin patch craft (using apples)
- Fall play dough mats (to make play dough pies, apples, and more) – use this edible play dough recipe
- Fall art activities like painting apple jars and more
Host an apple tasting
Another fun idea is to host an apple tasting with all sorts of different kinds of apples and have people vote on their favorites! There are so many different types of apples these days you could have a lot of options to choose from!
Read Apple Themed Books
If you’re doing this with kids or even families, you could read some fun apple themed books. There are plenty of options to choose from but these are some of my favorites!
If you need more ideas, here are a ton of apple themed books!
Apple Party Favors
You can’t send people home empty handed – either send them home with containers of leftover apple goodies or make one of these cute apple themed party favors to send home with them!
Leftover Apple Treats
Fill little jars with apple treats (like caramel apple M&Ms from my caramel apple bar), put an apple sticker on top, and voila – perfection!
Or if you want something bigger, you can get little apple boxes or apple shaped containers to send home bigger goodies! I made the first ones on my Cricut but here are some you can guy that are super cute!
- Apple candy containers (these are SO cute)
- Apple gift boxes
- Paper apple treat boxes
Caramel Apple Kits
Download the printable apple party favor tags (these are four different options to choose from) at the bottom of this post and tie them to caramel apple kits made with apples and caramel dip! We did these for our party, and they were a hit!
If you don’t want to do caramel apple kits, these are some other fun ideas that would go great with the tags!
- Apple slices with packs of caramels
- Candy apples
- Apple gift cards
- Apple snacks (like these dried apples)
- Squishy apple balls
- Jars of apple butter or homemade applesauce
- Apple home decor like these cute wooden apples
Oreo Apples
I had to include these Oreo apples because they’re just so cute! You could put them into bags with tags from the printable set (or not) and send them home with people!
