These fall place cards are so easy to make with some fall colored flowers, small pails, and FloraCraft® Desert Foam®. Thanks so much to FloraCraft® for sponsoring this post!
It’s time for another project as part of being on the FloraCraft® Make It: Fun team and this month’s bucket was one of my favorites so far! This month the FloraCraft® team spoiled us with a box full of FloraCraft® Desert Foam® and a flower arranging kit, perfect for making some awesome fall crafts. While the rest of the team went the succulent route, I’m one of the few people who actually doesn’t really like succulents. Okay, well I think they’re very cute when other people use them, I just don’t use them in my own home. Crazy, I know.

Anyway, ever since my trip to the Southern Living Kitchen where we did a floral arranging class, I’ve been obsessed with flower arranging. I’m still not great at it but I think it’s so fun to turn a couple of flowers into something beautiful! I used some of the tips from that class to create these fall place cards.
Easy Fall Place Cards
- Design it:® Silks & Naturals Desert Foam® – I used the big blocks of it and just cut them down
- Design it:® Floral arrangement kit
- FloraCraft® Make It: Fun® Foam Cutter
- Fall colored silk flowers
- Small fall colored pail or bucket
- Fall colored cardstock
- Fall colored Sharpie marker
Start off by cutting your Desert Foam® down to the right size to fit into your pail using the Foam Cutter. Make sure to cut it small enough that the foam won’t be showing over the top of the pail. Put the cut foam into the pail.
Next, start cutting your flowers using the wire cutters provided in the kit. One of the tips that I learned in my floral arranging class is to always use odd numbers of things, so cut three flowers of each color. In order to add some height variety, I cut one of my flowers longer than the other two to add a little height to the middle of the arrangement. Set aside one of the pieces of stem that you cut; you’ll be using it later.
For my small pail, I used three different flowers in three colors, so nine total. If your pail is a little bigger, you might need to add a couple more.
Once all of your flowers are cut, start adding them to the block of foam. Another tip that I learned was to start in the corner and put all of the same type (or color) of flower together, just spacing them out around the corner. I started with my white flowers and put the short flowers surrounding the corner and then the taller flower behind those, a little higher than the first two. Repeat with all of your colors, making sure that the foam is completely covered with the flowers.
Your floral arrangement is done! The next step is adding the actual place card to the flowers. All I did was write the name on a piece of card stock and then I taped the card stock to the stem that I’d cut off earlier. I then placed that stem directly into the center of the flowers to create an easy and pretty fall place card.
