With Cinco de Mayo right around the corner, I thought it would be fun to put together some of the best Mexican appetizers out there so anyone who is planning a party can find everything they need in one place!
I searched everywhere to find the best Mexican recipes I could find and let me tell you – there are a lot! So forget the main course and just serve up your favorite Mexican appetizer recipes and your favorite Mexican dessert recipes – perfect for celebrating all night long!
You could serve any of these as stand alone recipes or even put the alongside a nacho bar – your choice, they’ll all be delicious no matter what you choose!
These Mexican dishes are perfect for Taco Tuesday, a birthday fiesta, Cinco de Mayo, or any other time you just want some great Mexican appetizers to chow down on!
Delicious Dips
Dips are one of my personal favorites because they make for super easy Mexican appetizers. Serve them up with chips (preferably homemade tortilla chips) and dippers for a great choice every time.
Queso Fundido
This queso fundido recipe combines homemade pork chorizo with delicious spices and ooey gooey cheese for one amazing dip! Perfect for parties and Mexican night!
Unlike a traditional seven-layer taco dip or regular taco dip, this one actually tastes just like a taco because it uses ground beef taco meat and caramelized corn as its base. It’s absolutely delicious and a must-have for any Cinco de Mayo party!
This enchilada dip is creamy, savory, and absolutely delicious! It’s like having these white chicken enchiladas but in a dip form that’s perfect for serving at parties!
This simple dip starts with canned pinto beans that gets turned into a quick and easy refried bean dip that makes a great addition to any tacos, cheese quesadillas, or other Mexican favorites! Or use it as refried beans that people can put on their other appetizers!

While you technically want to serve this with a fork, it’s still kind of a finger food and a great Mexican appetizer if you serve it in individual cups!

This recipe comes together fast with just the combination of black beans, corn, red onion, and Mexican flavors. It’s a great side dish or appetizer for any party!
A green salsa made out of tomatillos, jalapeños, onions, cilantro, garlic, and lime juice – mixed all together to form a fresh salsa bursting with flavor.
While this may not be super Mexican, it sounded unique and intriguing enough that I had to include it in my list of salsas! It starts with fresh cucumber that’s combined with tomatoes, cilantro, red onion, and a light and creamy dressing.
