Easy Snickers Pie

All growing up I had one favorite candy bar – Snickers. That’s changed a bit since then but I still love me a good classic Snickers bar.

I mean there’s a reason I still make this Snickers poke cake at least every few months.

There’s just something about the combination of chocolate, caramel, and nuts that has made Snickers bars so popular over the years. And this pie gives you everything you love about a Snickers bar in pie form – creamy filling, crunchy topping, and a perfectly balanced graham cracker crust!

Whether you’re hosting a party at home or need a dessert to bring to a Thanksgiving gathering, there are few desserts that people will enjoy more than this candy lover’s pie. Add it to your holiday dessert table or bring it to a birthday party with these Oreo truffles.

Ingredient Notes

  1. Graham cracker crust – you can either buy a pre-made graham cracker crust or make your own using the recipe in my striped delight post (half the recipe) that’s basically just graham cracker crumbs, butter, and sugar. You could also make this on a chocolate graham cracker crust if you want even more chocolate flavor!
  2. Cream cheese – make sure to use the full-fat, full everything cream cheese. Also, make sure to allow it to come to room temperature so that it mixes well with the other ingredients or you’ll end up with little chunks of cream cheese in your pie, not good.
  3. Chocolate chips – I prefer semi-sweet chocolate chips but if you want to go a tad sweeter, you can also do milk chocolate chips. Regular size, mini, or even chocolate chunks work if that’s all you have.
  1. Caramel – you’re going to want a caramel sauce like the caramel ice cream topping I used in this caramel apple dip. Just something you can pour on top of the pie.
  2. Snickers Candy Bars – I recommend fun-size Snickers Bars or the miniatures simply because they’re already pretty small and you’ll have to do less cutting but regular size work fine too. You just need to make sure that they’re cut into smaller bite-sized Snickers pieces. You can do this by hand with a knife or by pulsing in a high-powered food processor!

Additional Garnishes

In addition to adding caramel sauce and candy bar pieces on top of the pie, you can also garnish the Snickers pie with chopped peanuts and chocolate sauce (this hot fudge would be great) too! I didn’t include those in the ingredients list because I personally don’t, but you can!

How to Make Snickers Pie

Making this no bake Snickers pie is about as easy as can be. It’s just a matter of mixing together the filling, chilling, garnishing, then enjoying!

1 – Make the Snickers Pie Filling

  1. Beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth.

Note!

If your cream cheese isn’t soft, wait until it’s soft or you’ll ruin your pie in this first step when the cream cheese and powdered sugar don’t mix together well. You’ll know it wasn’t soft enough when you notice little chunks of cream cheese in the mixture.

  1. Add the sour cream and vanilla to the cream cheese mixture and mix well. You should have a nice smooth and creamy mixture when it’s all combined.

  1. Fold in about 1 1/2 cups chopped Snickers using a spatula. And when I say fold in, I mean just gently stir the chopped Snickers in so that they don’t get totally broken up by an electric mixer or by mixing too harshly.

  1. Pour the pie batter into the graham cracker crust and spread around to cover the crust completely. Place the pie in the refrigerator and refrigerator for at least six hours, preferably overnight.

Make It Ahead!

Fill your pie ahead of time and chill overnight in the refrigerator. Just before serving, move onto the next step and top it with all of the additional garnishes.

It makes it a great addition to any Thanksgiving party because it’s one of the few recipes (unlike mashed potatoes or roasted root veggies) that you can make ahead of time.

2 – Garnish the Snickers Bar Pie

  1. Once the pie has chilled for at least six hours, garnish with 1/2 cup chopped Snickers.

  1. Melt chocolate chips in the microwave at 30 second increments until smooth (or use a double boiler on the stove).
  2. Drizzle the melted chocolate and caramel sauce on top of the chopped Snickers to finish the Snickers bar pie!

Looks amazing right?? If you like chocolate, caramel, or nuts you are going to love this delicious no bake dessert!

3 – Slice and Serve the Pie

Use a sharp knife to slice the pie into eight large slices or into smaller pieces if you prefer.

You can either serve the Snickers pie immediately or put back in the fridge to chill until you’re ready to serve.

Tips & tricks

Store covered in the refrigerator with plastic wrap for up to five days then throw away any Snickers pie you have not yet eaten.

Chop the Snickers Bars into small bite-sized pieces (think about the smallest Snickers candies they sell and chop it that small or smaller).

Serve this alongside your other Thanksgiving pies for a nice variation from the typical pumpkin or homemade apple pie. It’s a great option for anyone who wants something more chocolately than fruity. It’s also one of the best no bake pie recipes to free up your oven for actual cooking!

Try it with a chocolate graham cracker crust or an Oreo crust for something different, especially if you’re a big chocolate lover!

Recipe FAQs

Can you freeze Snickers pie?

I do not recommend freezing this no bake Snickers pie. It freezes fine but doesn’t thaw very well. If you really want to freeze it, freeze it before you add the chopped Snickers, chocolate, and caramel on top.

Can you make Snickers pie ahead of time?

This Snickers bar pie is great for making ahead of time! Simply make the filling, add it to the graham cracker crust, and chill overnight. Then when you’re ready to serve, add the chopped up Snickers bar pieces, caramel, and melted chocolate on top!

I don’t care for Snickers candy bars. Is it possible to make this recipe with other candy bars, like Three Musketeers or Heath candy bars?

You could definitely try it, but I can’t say that I’ve made it with anything other than Snickers!
