Hi, I’m Britni!
I’m so happy you’re here! I’m the founder of Play Party Plan and an expert in creating party games, easy crowd-pleasing recipes, and fun and memorable experiences for all ages. Over the past 12 years, I’ve developed thousands of party ideas, planned events for schools, churches, and companies, and built a digital brand that has become a trusted resource for millions of families, teachers, and party hosts around the world, with a community of over 1 million followers across social media. I also run a popular digital printable shop that sells thousands of printables every year.
Many of my ideas have gone viral (in the best way), and I’ve been honored to be featured across the internet in places such as Good Housekeeping, Southern Living, Today, Better Homes and Gardens, CountryLiving, Container Store, and even Disney. I love what I do and love helping others make life a little more fun—one party at a time.
My Background
I graduated with a BA degree in English and worked as a PMP certified project manager for the first part of my professional life. While that may not sound fun to many, my work experience made me realize that planning and editing are two of my favorite stages of a project. I’ve used what I’ve learned to make sure that every idea we come up with is thought through, tested, and written in a way that’s easy to understand and replicate at home.
On the fun side, I’ve been a room mom in charge of classroom parties for years, a camp director of activities for teens in three different metro areas, and planned hundreds of events for my church, school, and community over the past twenty years.
I have also created over 500 different party games for Play Party Plan in the past 12 years including this dice gift exchange game that has had over two million views on my site and had almost 300,000 shares on Facebook. I had people sending me pictures all Christmas season long as they played the game with their friends, families, and colleagues!
While I love creating viral games of course, I love seeing my ideas be a part of people’s special moments and memories even more. And I love that this job has given me that opportunity.
I live in the Kansas City area with my husband, two boys, and pretty much my entire family – they’re the best team ever! I’m also a big board game collector, escape game enthusiast, and book lover. One of my favorite recent projects was planning a reading retreat that combined all of my favorite things in one epic weekend!
Foodie
When I’m not creating games to play at parties, I’m developing recipes to serve alongside those games! I love to eat and love to recreate some of my favorites inspired by pop culture, travels, and restaurant favorites!
Just like with our games, every recipe is carefully developed, tested, and re-tested to make sure it’s worth you spending your money to try!
If it’s not something we’d feed to our family and friends, you won’t find it on our site! Some of our recipes have been so popular that they caught the eye of the Southern Living magazine team, and I was invited to the Southern Living Test Kitchen to learn about how they test recipes to perfect them before magazines hit the shelves!
Family Traveler
In my downtime from work, I’m traveling the world with my family. We’ve been to over 20 different countries, always looking for the most unique and fun things to do wherever we are from canyoning in Switzerland to most recently climbing through glaciers in Alaska!
We’ve traveled so much that Southwest Airlines even named me their featured A-list traveler of April 2019! I often create games and recipes inspired by our travels like homemade Butterbeer and scavenger hunts inspired by cruise games!
